Hairstyles preview

Something missing for way too long is a preview for hairstyles before you acquire them. There are many hairstyles to get additionally to the default ones. Too many to just get them in short time to try them all out and some arent that fast to get.
of course i could use google for it but lets be honest, its not the same seeing a screenshot of a stranger with the hairstyle you may or may not wanna have and seeing the hairstyle on your own character with your own glam. there are third party tools out there which let your character have unacquired hairstyles, but this ist not a solution.

i think there are two possibilities and in my opinion it would be nice to have them both.

1. The Aesthetician should have a complete list with unobtained hairstyles to look at. including their name and how to get it.
let us be able to put them on and chose all the colours to see how it looks. to be able to have a preview on our own character in our own colours and with our own glam would be amazing.
not only for the aesthetician but also for character creation.

2. let it be like an additional slot in the glam preview window. so that we can look at an preview like we do with any other equipment. that would mean we could look at it at the market board or if someone posts the learnable item.
any maybe show it too in the detail window from other characters?

i really want something like that and im sure there are a LOT of other people out there wishing for the same.

edit: including hairstyles on glam plates would be amazing too. some glams just dont work with dome hairstyles.

edit2: as far as i've seen, most people would be happy with a second tab in character creation which shows locked hairstyles with their name and how to obtain them. that would also grant us an ingame overview of how many hairstyles there are in the game.

YES!!! So many yeses. FFXIV Collect provides images for what all hairstyles look like on different races and genders. The game could do something similar by having a right-click menu option of "Preview" akin to Try On for outfits like you mentioned, then give a rotatable model of our character (with their unique hair colour and highlights) with that hairstyle on. Maybe even let us show current equipped gear to watch for any too-obnoxious clipping or if the headpiece being used hides it too much.

I'm sure plenty do. The thread just got buried in crap. Lots of people want to make new threads for no reason other than to be noticed/annoying. Just bump this one cause at least it's useful.

I'd love this feature! My favourite hairstyles are Hyur-specific, or... 1.8 million on the marketboard / a random drop from content that I'm a very long way from unlocking. I don't want to spend what's currently all of my gil (as I'm only just now finishing up ARR) for a hairstyle that I can't try on first. Even when I do unlock that content, I'd still like to try it on before deciding whether to use it or to sell it myself.

Yeah this thread must have gotten buried by all of the I need to make a new thread about the seasonal event or the world first race. Along with the trolls coming out of hibernation a bit early. I would love to try on a hairstyle to see how it looks or to at least remember what a style looks like cause some of the names don't give you much to go on. Then there's the whole highlight situation. Where you might like the look of a style but then you see that it's highlights are kind of wonky. Take my current hairstyle I love the look but the underside of the pony tail is what shows the highlights and the bangs have a very faded out tone to whatever color highlights I have.

there may or may not be an app called Anamnesis which may or may not allow you to change your race/gender/face/hair/cloths/ and all that good stuff (and it may or may not be cosmetic so it may or may not effect anyone around you) and it may or may not be allowed which is why iam not telling you to go download it
