    Bring back unskippable cutscenes.

Every alliance raid, it's a race to see who can shout about "CS! WE HAVE CUTSCENES! WAIT FOR THE CUTSCENES!"

The last raid I queued into, someone started shouting about cutscenes within 5 seconds of zoning in.

The intense level of emotion a lot of people have around making sure they're the cutscene savior for anyone new to the raid is getting absurd.

It'd come off as more kind and helpful if vets and mentors asked if anyone wanted the raid to wait for cutscenes, or if anyone ever actually informed sprouts that they can view cutscenes outside of content in the inn rooms. But instead, it's a shouting match about cutscenes before you can even queue into a raid nowadays. Years ago on my server, no one ever said a word about cutscenes, people just ran the content and moved on.

At this point, I'd prefer to sit through unskippable cutscenes on alliance raids than witness the ridiculous way people behave around them.

Maybe a way to warrant this could be if someone is watching the CS for the 1st time, then it becomes unskippable? Or like you get the little barrier before the fight.

The game is able to detect wether or not you're watching it for the 1st time.

That sounds like a really good solution. It'd ensure new players get to enjoy the content without missing things, and no one else would have to shout about stuff or get angry for early pulls, etc. It would eliminate the drama around it. Win/win.

This seems like such obvious easy solution that I just have to imagine that the game's coding is so whack that it makes it hard to encode first time player detection to trigger "unskippable cs" so they have to have the either skippable cs for all players or unskippable cs for all players like in Castrum and Prae.

I wish they would implement is so that we can finally avoid this drama

We're on the same datacenter and I've never seen this before. I see more so than not (if new or within first month) "Wait on cutscenes" "CS wait".

Older Alliance raids.. people uhh.. talk in those on Crystal? News to me.

    Nah.

To elaborate more on that, it's usually the vets screaming about waiting for cutscene more than the sprouts themselves. In a previous CS thread, like a year ago? Or smth, I saw quite a few sprouts say they don't care if people pull and it actually makes them uncomfortable when people get uppity about it on their behalf.

I've even seen it get as far as people purposefully wiping the group because someone pulled during CS. Cause in their mind, wreaking havoc and causing a wipe is a way better experience for the new person than them missing the first raid wide.

Let people speak for themselves instead of trying to be some saviour.

Any time I hear these stories I find myself at a loss because in now almost 10 years of playing this game, I rarely if ever find this type of behaviour. Usually people say "Cutscene" in Alliance chat and nobody bats an eye, just waits a couple seconds and then everyone jumps into battle together. The few times when someone pulls early, they either apologize or if on purpose the entire raid makes a point to remind them to wait, both cases being rare.

I have never, not once, encountered a "Savior of Cutscenes" or whatever you called it.

"Saviour of Cutscenes" is something that likely doesn't exist xD

But I've been progressively more having the opposite experience. People do say "Wait for cutscenes" in the chat, but so many people either ignore it or clearly don't care and go in anyway. Often it's not even the tanks; the tanks tend to be respectful to that fault. Often it's the DPS that either use a projectile skill like Throwing Dagger, Piercing Talon or Enpi, half the time going in, pull the boss, and then come back to the entrance while hopping around.

And notice how I used melee skills rather than caster or ranged skills. It's because most of what I see are the melees going in and doing that. And while it's easy to just stop attacking, ignore the guy and reset the boss, that sort of thing no longer happens. People just sigh and go with it, with one or two people mentioning it in the chat but otherwise having no chance to stop it.

Oh, I have countless times. I've seen people go nuts, man. I've seen people call cutscene pullers "human trash", saying "your mom's a wh***", or "you deserve to die irl". I've seen "if you can't wait 5 seconds, quit the game" or any reference to the person being a neckbeard that lives in their parents' basement. People causing wipes and claiming that it wouldn't have happened if that 1 person in the 24-man wasn't in cutscene.

I'm not saying that it's all the time, but I'm not being hyperbolic in the pure vitriol I have seen.

    Edit:
Heck, even on this forum I've seen quite a large number of people say that they'll let cutscene pullers die. That they'll wait outside the gate and leave the puller to their own devices. And I've also seen people say that "It's not hard to not be scum".

    Let people enjoy the cutscenes.
If it's not day 1, they can expect to miss out the first 5% of a fight. It's not like they won't see the fight again.
