well, there hasn't been any food scenes after the buuz
yes.
The joke was it wasn't lewd to him.I mean, it's a suggestive quote, which falls under suggestive themes. Not really an issue there. By itself it is amusing enough I suppose. I do think, however, that the placement and timing was kind of strange, sort of like some random person making a lewd comment in a crowd with many young ears around to hear them. Like, tone it down man.
To him it was completely sanitary.

Well Koji Fox etc. are known for butchering the english version of the game. Or does nobody find it weird that we hear dragons speak like Urianger even tho they use their own language and the echo should translate it normally? Or that Urianger speaks only in english like a guy from england a couple centuries ago. Or that we get so many spoilers in english, for which Koji Fox even got flak. Same as the starboard larboard disaster. Or that the dying Zenos only in english starts to ask you some random bs questions that never get answered instead of telling you that your life was so much better than his and that your life was a wonder. Instead you get a "Was your life good? Was it worthwile? Did you had fun?" <dies>
These stupid raunchy jokes are just the tip of the iceberg, you have no idea how much your experience actually gets butchered by some people mainly Koji Fox rewriting the game after their taste for odd dialects and strange words. Which is probably something you can expect from someone who was used to teach english etc. but we are here to enjoy a cohesive story.
I mean i am grateful that Koji Fox exists don't get me wrong, he is same as Yoshi P. one of the reasons why XIV was such a huge success and why SE is even alive right now. But he has way way too much sway over the translation of the game, way way too much.
Right because there totally aren't any instances of the use of a different Japanese dialect for one of the races or anything else in the other languages that make sense or are jokes for their target audiences. Also Koji hasn't been part of the localization staff since he got moved over to work on XVI. So the new member is just continuing with the personality the character has been given. Your opinion about how people talk in the English version is just that. There are many who like and love the English localization and many who'd agree with you.Well Koji Fox etc. are known for butchering the english version of the game. As has been explained more than once in this forum the English localization tends to be aimed at the North American audiences so a lot of the jokes and references will be those that they vibe with. Now I've actually lived in two out of the three countries and can say that those two have similar understandings and enjoy the same things even if one uses the metric system and has a Prime Minister.

Heavensturn 2017 was particularly memorable as Year of the Rooster.
Who is in greater need of a therapist:
the person who recognizes word play for what it is, laughs and moves on; or
the person who recognizes word play for what it is, gets seriously offended and obsesses over it so much they need to point it out to everyone to make certain everyone knows what it is
Did you not go through the carpentry questline? Almost everything Beatin says can be misunderstood for innuendo.
That’s the joke.
Oh god, a lewd joke that only makes sense in English? Say it isn't so! They should directly translate the text from Japanese word for word and never consider how dialogue and humor differs between cultures.
Beat out the bad! Beat out the bad! Beat out the bad!
