Heavensturn 2017 was particularly memorable as Year of the Rooster.

the person who recognizes word play for what it is, laughs and moves on; or
the person who recognizes word play for what it is, gets seriously offended and obsesses over it so much they need to point it out to everyone to make certain everyone knows what it is

Also I don't really remember those characters being involved on the event. Did I skip something?
Putting aside Beatin and his love of handling wood, there truly are many instances of the EN localization team making some fairly significant changes. Some such instances even go so far as to completely change the message and themes being conveyed.
Most events have additional cutscenes with characters from side content or MSQ.
