Rules to purchasing land not enforced

    I have been here:

    https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../housing_land/

    where you can see this:

But only the first part of the highlighted sentence is enforced, cause you can do this:
1)You own a private and a Guild house where you are GM.
2)You make another character that join a guild with a house (maybe bought by a friend or a second account).
3)Your friend makes your second character GM of that guild.
4)You can MAiNTAIN both Guild houses
4b)In practice you can redo 2-4 more times, till max of 8 guild houses for account (edit: per world).

can someone pls confirm this is working as intended? cause for me the MAINTAIN word is key to the issue. English may not be my mother language but i understand that what is wrote IS NOT what it is happening.

As the Rule states, you may only purchase one Private estate and be the Master (owner) of one Free Company with an estate attached.

    1. Is fine, you can own a personal estate and be the Master of an FC that has a house attached.
    2. 3. 4. and 4b are against the Rules, you could only be a member of another FC on the same world with another character, not be Master of two or more FC's with alt characters on the same account.
So as you pointed out it is technically possible to be Master of up to eight FC's on a single account.

Do or will they act on this Rule, I don't know of any reports so far of any action taken, but they can and maybe will.
Best to not place yourself in the Rule breaking category or later on you may loose the FC/House/Account. You could try reporting FC's you think are breaking the rules.

The keywords are purchase AND maintain, you can run multiple FCs with one Service Account (8 in total) on one world.

If your friend in your example would not give you leadership of the 2 man FC but stopped playing, leadership will transferred automatically to you after 60 (?) days, regardless of your leadership of the first FC, so SE is clearly fine with this, its not against the rules and reportable.

Ok so i have to read "purchase and maintain" together?
I swear i don't want to split hairs, neither i want to do that (even if i wanted i dont have time to manage so many characters) it's Just that It seems SE in theory doesn't want ppl to hoard more houses but in pratice It does not enforce It. Also in this forum ppl says that over time many doing that reported themselves but nothing happened and gms didnt do anything.

I'll try to be more clear:
    What i HATE Is not that we can or we cant do that;
What i HATE Is that THERE IS NO CLEAR statements of SE about the issue.

So, Is ppl ALLOWED to do It? Is It not?
    I dont accept this answer:
"Since you can tecnically do It, you can do It"

Edit: i reread all posts and i noticed i misread this part:

So i guess that, since there is this.. let's call it "possibility" that can arise, SE turns a blind eye on the matter.. what i would find COOL would be if we could have a clear and official statement on the matter, but i think it's obvious that i will never get it (cause as other issues, like for example 3rd party tools, SE treats them in practice like a grey area)

    The Rule is:

You may Purchase, and Maintain, One personal plot of land, and One free company with a plot of land, per World, per service account.

How can you not understand this?

If you have a second character, on your service account, that is in an FC and the Master goes away long enough for leadership to change and it by chance goes to your second character, and this happens to be on the same World as your Main that has a house with an FC, then you are breaking the Rule by their definition.

Will they do anything about it? I doubt it.

Its a Rule to follow, whether or not you do so is up to you, but just be mindful they could act on it sometime.

That is all there is to it, best to not deliberately test if they will, I'm pretty sure that in the case of you being made Master of a second FC by the system would not result in some form of punishment, the system should know that you already have another FC already with another character and thus not even allow it, but this is SE, they don't think it through.

If you on purpose buy or create another FC with the intent on getting another plot, then its fair game if they catch you out.
