I think it'd be nice to have more playable races - especially ones that are more than just "human with X feature" (as much as I love Viera, given that I play one) - but as people already pointed out, it's a fairly substantial undertaking to add a race to the game.

Especially as the game continues on, and there's more and more gear that would be need to be added to a new race if one is added.
