As I said, I feel it only part of the problem.mate some rando on the dps forums went out of their way to compile all the various samurai complaint threads after se specifically asked for feedback into a single megapost with links and shit and that shit has gone completely ignored by the devs. megathreads are just an excuse they use. they'll cherry pick whatever feedback they want regardless

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
Sense of achievement. That this person did it first before anyone else. And getting a good job sticker from Yoshi P himself. That's all I can really see. Pissing contest at it's best.
Never, nothing changed, Ultimate raiding isn't limited only to the WF and let me be real honest with you because I'm real tired of this: absolutely nobody cares about your outsider view on the subject.
Ah yes, completely an outsider view. I forgot everyone who plays XIV is all about ultimate raiding, and no one ever touches any of the other content. Woops.
Go do one, then. We'll wait.

I appreciate a thread with a different take on the situation.
On one hand, glam, mounts, titles are the end-game. Having a rare title, mount, etc is a status symbol for many players. It is almost a way of saying "look what I did" without actually saying "look what I did." With that said, I've personally found that the value of world/server firsts don't really matter. Sure, a player will have the title/mount/etc first. But within some period of time, suddenly, everyone has them.
I think I had the server first for crafters at 90. Let's say I actually did - now that title is everywhere. Who cares that I got it first (maybe)? One of the titles I was most proud of was Hand of Creation. I got it back when those expert recipes for Firmament first came out. I wasn't the first, but I can only recall seeing one other player with it for months. I even put the completion date of it in my profile, since I was proud. And I'm still proud of it. However, it doesn't mean a damn thing. As time marches on, the synths become easier and the title is more prevalent than it ever was.
I'm not comparing Hand of Creation to clearing Ultimate (cheating or not). However, the "value" of it for bragging rights will disappear probably within a patch cycle. And if someone did get that title by way of cheating, it is an empty victory. Sure, you beat the system. Yay for them.
