They're not wrong. This forum can be so, so reductive at times with their discussion, it's almost depressing to witness sometimes.

I feel like this is the case only because of impression both games give.

WoW has a cartoony, jagged and wonky art style while the races are ultimately fugly barbarians.
Of course you expect negativity pouring from all those ugly mouths like you would from trailer trash people.

FFXIV has a pretty, slick aesthetic while all races look well groomed and fair.
The fact that they start spewing same kind of vitrol is a jarring contrast.

The toxicity of the both forums is more or less equal.
FFXIV is just more noticable because it comes from pretty mouths.
