The "Everyone" side:Who is the chaotic good in this example? Me? There are two sides in this thread: those who break the rules to get ahead and flex their status in a video game under the guise of "it's just fun", and those who want the rules to be enforced because that's the game they signed up for and paid for.
So, who is good other than me and those defending the rules in this thread? Action is coming.

How is it "fraudulent"??? You don't even know waht that word means. If I am in a parse after asking the party to let me know if they are using addons, it means they didn't respect my experience the way you people suggest you would. I'm not sure how you would exactly go about respectfully using addons because, you don't ask if it's okay because that would result in you being banned. You don't let others know you are using addons if you are asked, because that would result in you getting banned.
The only way for me to get you actioned is to report all the people present in the parse excluding myself. Then square enix will have to do an investigation and either do nothing, or ban the people breaking the ToS. The fact is at least one of the people reported should be banned according the rules. There's no reason to not mass report everyone on fflogs by this logic, but I'm only going to do it for the people who end up parsing me after I ask for them to respectfully leave group or turn off addons for the run they are involving me in.
Imagine twisting dialogue and pretending you're on the side of righteousness by throwing around words you don't even understand. It's a tricky issue to tackle because you cheaters are so sneaky and dishonest about it. If it is annoying enough for square enix to deal with the mass reporting, maybe they will have to step up their policy.
If you want to argue that all 3rd party are bad, making yourself look clinically insane is a terrible move.
In my experience with basically anything that has a reporting function, a single person mass reporting typically results in a punishment for said person. How is it "fraudulent"??? Especially if you're reporting based on maybes and supposes.
honey listen. The only time fair play matter in a truthful sense is in thing that has a player going against another player that was made by the company design. I am troll because what im asking is you to actually think thing through? You know and everybody else knows that there are going to be mod, cheats for any games.
Like a mentioned in alot of post that about this topic. The things people mention here are not game breaking. This game has done well with such. The only thing they have not got a handle is the wall the hacks. Im still seeing creepy lalas in the walls.
Have you ever seen anyone use a vac hack before? have you ever seen people use a speed hack? those are game breaking. those are the ones that can ruin someone experience. Have you ever experience fighting a mob and then someone just randomly take them from you while running right by? or pulling a high lvl boss from a zone and it starts killing all the low level players?
You have not experience these things assuming in this game. And if you want to go around trying to mass report people that are against your thoughts then be my guess.

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
So how would I single out the rule breaker then? 7 people is a narrow enough pool for square to deal with. It's not that difficult to do. I'm sure they will streamline an investigation method for accounts that are labeled as suspicious for being reported for addon use. There's no reason for a full blown anti-cheat as long as people are being policed for addons regularly. Enough permabans go out and you won't break the rules any longer. You can always go back to WoW where cheating isn't against the ToS.
You think it's hard? Account gets flagged as suspicious for third party tool use > client receives update that scans computer for addons > no detect after surveillance period ends? client update to remove anti-cheat.
If you are flagged for suspicious activity, you can get a temp anti-cheat. Or quit the game if you don't wanna deal with that on your computer. No reason everyone has to deal with it, no reason it has to be permanent. As long as cheaters are banned regularly the problem will go away naturally over time.
