It's an addon, it's against ToS, it provides a clear performance benefit.

It's different in WoW where it's not against ToS. Why should I lose performance relative to my peers because I don't want to break ToS? How is that fair? How is that a position worthy of ANY support?

Yes, it's against the ToS. But is Yoshi/the staff going to do anything unless you yourself admit you're using them in game or it goes viral and pisses off half the community? No.

It's a gray area, always has been. He's said they're against the ToS but also has said he's not going to take extra measures to stop people from using them because it's not worth the effort of going through every single plugin in existence and adding them to a list. So, it's treated like fight club. Some are more vocal than others about using them, that's their choice. Ultimately though, admitting it on here doesn't affect anything with your main account. They're considered two separate entities.

On another note, you probably shouldn't treat the ToS as sacred text that can't ever be broken because most of the time they can't even enforce basic rules properly unless it becomes a huge deal. It's more like guidelines at this point.

Not to be that person but ultimately this is just the new life of the game. The devs are already implementing plugins as actual features in the game so they're clearly not trying to stop them lol. If anything instead of getting mad at plugin users or creators, say thank you because you're getting those in the game now as actual features and having your own game improved. Will we get a parser built in, in the future? Who knows, but I'm more inclined to believe it would happen now compared to two years ago.
