If it's any indication, EAC was bypassed quite literally the same day Elden Ring dropped. The same thing happens in every other game that uses it. Within the first week, if not the first day, people have already circumvented it in such a way as to be able to play online without any repercussions whatsoever. Denuvo anti-tamper doesn't fare much better. To make matters worse, both of these options are excessively invasive in function and intention. Likewise, both demonstrably impact performance while running. Both also have a tendency to continue running in the background even after the associated application has been closed.

There are ways SE could check for things on their end, but that would only work with things that interact with the server. I believe they already do this to some extent, but what they can detect appears to be quite limited. Client-side modifications and things that function by reading the game's data would be unaffected, meaning practically everything people employ now would go totally undetected and untouched anyway. Even something so minimally invasive and straightforward as this would require a considerable amount of reworking of systems on their part.

Were they to want to lock the client and files down to make it far harder for people to read and/or modify them, they'd have to rebuild the entire game from the ground up. ....And people would find a workaround almost immediately. I really don't see any way for it to be even remotely worth it for them to take this approach. It would almost definitely require diverting resources to the game that are better served elsewhere, and SE seems to be spread pretty thin as it is.
