There is a big difference between aesthetic mods and gameplay mods.

If you're talking about "importing a dress from that other game to this game and using it on your character", sure, but if you're talking about housing plugins, crafting plugins or whatever, well...

Tbh I don't really see how. If you think gameplay plugins are "cheat" to have a good parse or a clear you shouldn't have, there also are some people that take pride (and even commission) housing designs or whatever, so they probably feel cheated by people using addons the same way "normal" raiders feel cheated by the people using pve addons.

My point is not that everyone should be banned, IDC what people do and what they use, my point is : you should take pride in what you do, however you do it, and stop comparing yourself to others. I take pride in my "vanilla" kills, and in my "vanilla" housing, and that's enough for me. More than "take pride in what you do", it includes "not caring about others parse" and "not caring that this other community is cheating too". Just focus on what you do, let SE handle bans or whatever they should do with cheaters, and chill.

The housing plugins are definitely not just aesthetic mods tho. The one that they're talking about genuinely lets you place housing items outside of the game limits, at least for the most part.

I should have been more specific. I meant mods that only change the appearance of your character. Like gear and hair. Stuff like that. I consider housing and crafting "gameplay" mods, akin to raiding. And by the way, I don't care what anyone uses. Mods don't bother me.

I was just responding to that poster who said they felt singled out as a raider when there are many other mods out there for various other things in the game. That's true. But there is a difference between fluff mods and mods that directly impact gameplay.

lowkey this should be illegal IMO(im not sure if it is tbh) mainly because this is a clear violation of IP,copyrights and trademarks.
if they come with a complete idea , no using assets from an already established product, then yeah go for it and sell it , but here the modders are taking advantage of others people work.

Dunno tbh. If you watch a bunch of those clip compilation videos of streamers getting busted cheating you'll see some that paid for the cheat programs they were using because they still have the receipt in their email inbox lol.

In fairness, it's kinda understandable to feel like there are eyes on you at the moment if you raid regularly. The lion's share of the raiding community - yes, even those on console - use or benefit from third-party tools. Granted, it's mostly just parsing taking place. The vast majority do NOT use gameplay enhancing plugins or janky garbage to zoom their cameras out until their character looks like an amoeba.

It will pass. This is just another bandwagon a bunch of ignorant people hopped on. They'll tire of it, and the whole debacle will vanish into the same pit the buff limit always gets lost in after its standard once-per-expansion appearance in the public eye.
