for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
Joke's on you. I don't even like this game anymore. Being given yet another reason to quit wouldn't bother me one bit. Frankly, the fact it would compel the few people keeping me here to leave as well would be a godsend.
Heh, this is my attitude towards normal raids. Do them once for the story, then never step foot inside again. You have a warped understanding of this game's raiding community. Ultimates are not something people want to do constantly. They are something we clear for the sake of clearing, after which most people never want to look at them again. Ultimates are, for many of the people that do them, not really even fun in the conventional sense. They're more of a test you never want to endure again once you've passed. You'll always have a minority willing to reclear, but that ain't most people.
It's fine to voluntarily revisit old content from time to time, but uh... trying to force it? Nah. People won't redo their clears periodically - they'll just quit entirely. The lion's share of the ones that didn't quit would just disengage from the content entirely, as to the majority, those weapons look like trash. Take'em away, they suck anyway.
Isn't it just better to believe the majority of any region are illegitimate clears?
People are just doing it for the sake of clear so does it matter?
If those that care for "prestige" record the all fights in the game to where your entire party must do it to prove no addons are used on anyone. To be honest that won't happen.
If beloved Yoshi-P and SE was really against it. They would implement a anti-cheat. They don't have a hard line stance to stop players.
So players should do what they like for the sake of fun with their little time to play the game.
That announcement was mostly for 1st clear and legitimacy for that title.
Rules are more like guidelines than actual rules. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is the core thing to me, you should be playing the game because you find it fun, accomplishing, or otherwise entertaining, if you are doing TEA or DSR or any other Ultimate with 50 plogons, and you had your fun and satisfaction doing it that way, more power to you, you are living your best life, don't let anyone take that away from you and what you do won't impact the experience of anyone who wasn't in the party, the most I'd ask from you is a degree of transparency, it is best if your party knows what you are doing, you are affecting other people's experience, for better or worse, so you should make certain you aren't directly affecting their experience in a way they disagree with, though realistically most people won't care.
Tbh you already admitted it, most people don't give a shit. Also, no people using plugins has never affected my experience in PF fights really. People not knowing how their job works or is bad at mechanics affect me more than someone using 50 plugins.
If they don't tell you, you would likely never know. And telling people you have plogons is actually a bannable offense - remember YoshiP's stance is essentially don't ask, don't tell. DADT. Why would you self snitch to a bunch of strangers that you're using plogons? lol
No rules are rules not guidelines, they are only guidelines if your constantly someone who breaks them. Yoshi-p and SE are STRONGLY against 3rd party add-ons that can be used to create toxicity or make content easier than intended. They realize that however if they add anticheat to kill this problem a lot of QoL that they don't have in the game and just for fun add-ons would get squashed as well and they would prefer not to have to do anything and players respect their wishes (lol yea right it's a dream world idea not reality). I respect that they know how important this decision is and now at the current state some people would be upset with add-ons that have no interaction with raids at all disappearing. The question is when is their breaking point had Neverland got caught with 3rd party, Unnamed get caught ( though japanese community kinda took care of them, harassed them until some deleted their accounts...don't dishonor that community I guess especially after they blasted the west for addons) have now the Gshade incident (bte have they commented on this yet curious). So question is how much till they feel their hand is forced and they have no choice but to add it maybe never, maybe 7.0 honestly we won't know till it happens.Isn't it just better to believe the majority of any region are illegitimate clears?

I love how you act like SE has a hardline stance on this and then go on to explain why they dont have a hardline stance. Also what is there to comment on in relation to Gshade? Yoship putting out a statement saying "told you so"?No rules are rules not guidelines, they are only guidelines if your constantly someone who breaks them. What I love is the crucifixion of the Raiding scene. Like why do people stop there? Raiding Plugins make up barely 5% of the total available Third-party tools. To top it off? it's usually content that other players never touch, yet complain about others cheating or clearing. Just oppose everything.
Gshade/Reshade/Mare/Penumbra/Dalamud/XIValex/NoClippy/Anamnesis/Ktisis, make sure to include the 1000x+ teleporting Lalafell bots under each Aetheryte that truly has some effect on the game economy. The websites that provide every mod and plugin. Every Twitter page with body modified screenshots taken with Gshade or Reshade, SFW and NSFW content that is also being sold for money needs to be crucified equally as much. Every house that has floating furniture that can't be manually glitched there without BDTH. Why does the player-base and Square hyperfocus on just the Raiding tools why not everything else as well when it's often glaringly obvious? Because players and Square silently agree on something. That the tools are beneficial to enjoying the game, while Square not needing to use resources to develop them. They make sure to remind the people however it is not okey. And cheating isn't okey, yet somehow it's always Raiding tools and not everything else that's the main focus.
I'd like to see the player-base opposing everything equally, but that just is never going to happen.
