(Yes yes, I know, it would be WHM, BLM, with SCH over on the side trying not to die of a debuff, but "War of the Magi" sounds more epic than just... /sigh "Mage Party"; Variation:

"Caster Party":
PLD, WHM, BLM, RDM (substituting the BLU Tank for a PLD if you want to do actual content )

"Guns vs Gods": (Saw a 24 man PF of this for Aglaia one day)
GNB, SGE, SGE, MCH, MCH, MCH, MCH, MCH
GNB, SGE, SGE, MCH, MCH, MCH, MCH, MCH

"Dark/Edgy Party":
DRK, AST (find a nAST to heal for you, then remind them Noct has been removed...too soon?), RPR, BLM

"All Healer Party":
WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR (also known as "Cleaving to Tradition")

"ACTUAL All Healer Party":
WHM, SCH, AST, SGE

"Can't Touch This":
SGE, MNK, DNC, BLM (think about it...)

"Tradition: OG FF (as in the original Final Fantasy)":
Any 4 of:
WAR, WHM, RDM, BLM, NIN, MNK

"Tradition: OG FFXIV, the 1.0 Years":
GLD, MRD, CNJ, CNJ, LNC, PUG, ARC, THM

"Tradition: OG FFXIV, the 1.21+ Years":
PLD, MRD, WHM, WHM, DRG, MNK, BRD, BLM (when you see it.......okay fine, WAR, whatever; the original 7 Jobs of FFXIV)

"Tradition: Reborn":
PLD, WAR, WHM, SCH, DRG, MNK, BRD, BLM or SMN (you can bring a NIN, but they have to arrive late to the party and join the run in progress; the original 9 Jobs of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn)

"Attrition (24 man)":
PLD, WAR, DRK, GNB, DRG, MNK, NIN, SAM, RPR, BRD, MCH, DNC, BLM in any combination of 24 (or just "All Tank Parties"; seriously, either setup has no Raises; the goal is to kill the boss before you run out of bodies)

This thread is just for fun, so you can be as silly or serious as you want, legitimate parties or complete memes. Mine above are mostly humorous, but there are some kind of neat themed parties you could make.

The guns one, just makes me want a mechanical based melee dps job for a fourth option. That's basically all my mains.

I honestly wanted Chemist (FFTactics used magic/elemental guns and give it the Mix command and you've got a Healer Job), but we got SGE, so it kinda works. A Melee in a mech...that would be interesting. Magitech Knight or something.

Though I don't think I covered everything. Surely there are some more potential parties out there. For example, the various FF4 parties as you cycle through characters through the game, GLD/PLD + ROG + WHM/SMN + BLM party for FF9's staple of Steiner, Zidane, Garnet, and Vivi, a "Normal People" party (all classes; in lore, most normal people in Eorzia/Etherys are classes, not Jobs), City-State parties (e.g. Limsa is some combination of MRD, WAR, ACN, ROG, NIN, and probably SCH), parties based on Astral Era (for example, SMN and GNB both date back to the Allegan empire's time; WHM, BLM, and SCH I kind of covered, but date back to the 5th Astral Era, and so on and so forth), the "Ardbert and Friends" party consisting of WAR/PLD, WHM, BRD, and BLM...

I dunno, there are lots of fun themes waiting to be had.
