Thinking of starting over an OCE data center.

So I've worked night shift practically forever. Usually get off work sometime between 2am and 4am EST. I love this game, and desperately want to find a static for savage content and other activities, but so far my playtimes have been a huge hinderance.

If rerolled on the OCE data center id be getting off work between 6-8p server time, and I imagine id have a much easier time. I was just worried about a few things though.

1.) How bad would the lag be? I have great internet, but I live on the east coast.

2.) Is the community big enough yet? I love doing hunts, pvp, and other activities. If theirs not enough players it kind of makes rerolling pointless.

3.) Assuming I got a more typical schedule in 3-5 years, would I be able to transfer my character back over to NA realms?

The lag would probably be tolerable but not too sure it'd be optimal at all.

The community is extremely small, I wouldnt go there, it's basically a trap because if I remember correctly you are stuck there for 90 days once you transfer. Everything is dead, and there is no DC travel to anywhere else.

You would be able to move back by then yes.

All in all, I would advice agaisnt it because Materia is a datacenter that is basically on life support.

Almost everyone I knew that transferred there from JP regret it. From NA to OCE the difference will be more noticeable because on JP the english community shares the server with jp community. If people from JP dont like Materia, chances are youre not gonna like it.

only issue is frontline only really pops within a 2-3 hour period
but Hunt trains,CC(even rival wings),Maps etc etc still get done but if you are concerned about OCE size you would probably be a safer bet to go to elemental probably have the same connection.

you can go to any DC you want there is no restriction on your account.
