Account name change for family members

Hello, i wanted to ask if anyone knows what would be the reason for not changing an account name for family members?
My reason for wanting this: When i bought the game i did not have a credit card so my husband used his to buy it and pay the sub, therefore the account has his name, but this is an account he has never used. Recently i requested an account name change since i got a credit card and was denied, i understand name changing accounts could lead to selling accounts but why is this not possible for family members after (showing proof)? i feel like all the effort and time i put in this game this past 2 years has been for someone else, i feel like i went to 0 because i don't really have an account of my own. Because of this sometimes i really don't feel like playing anymore, which sucks because i live in a foreign country and don't speak the native language, making it nearly impossible for me to meet ppl and make friends irl, this game is all i have for socializing, and now i'm feeling like i just don't wanna play anymore.

Does it matter whose name the account is in? You should be able to add other payment methods regardless of whose name it's in. If that doesn't work, you could buy game time cards in your own name, which the system probably won't be able to automatically know who bought the card.

I think what Poyo is saying is that they'd like the account in their name, not their spouses name. The payment method isn't really the issue they're voicing.

Unfortunately Poyo, just so you know for next time, the account can be in your name whether the payment info is yours or not. You're always able to update payment info, actual ownership, not so much.

Though I did like it that when my whole family played UO, they had the feature you're talking about.

I know what they are saying. I just don't see how it's really a problem unless the person whose name it's under starts playing and if they do, a new account under the same name would probably not be an issue.

I can see why it got denied. Account sharing is against the rules. If you want to change Credit Cards, then it should be possible in your Account.

But the problem stays. If you get divorced, the Account belongs to your Husband, it is his Name that got used to create it.

If I were you I would create a new Account and whenever I have some Money left I would gradually buy Level Skips for all Jobs. I would also transfer all Gils and all other Items that are tradable to this Account.
You can buy a lot of Minions cheaply, some Mounts are very quick and easy to get. And Glamor doesn't cost the earth anymore either.
You would lose your Character Name, Mounts, Glamor (Events + Item Shop) but the latter can be bought again and Events comes and goes. Title, Achievements, House or Apartment you would have to make / get new.
In the end you have your own Account that nobody can take away from you and you can win back everything you lose, or you can look ahead and shit on the loss and enjoy your own Account.

It's just that, it makes me sad that the customer support ppl aren't able to help with this issue. It's a valid issue, it CAN happen, I'm sure the existing rule is in place to avoid account selling probably, but this is another type of issue. To be honest, i wish my case could be reviewed. For me, it's not only making a new account and gradually buying new stuff. It's also abandoning an account with a lot of time and money spent on it. An account i would be torn to stop using because i'm super attached to my characters, and very proud of my achievements. I'm also a mother so you can bet i don't have enough free time to grind stuff again. I love this game so much, it has helped me with the feeling of loneliness and depression i had before playing it, but the people behind it aren't able to help with these specific cases.
