Why not both? These aren't things that need to be mutually exclusive, they are handled by two different design branches within game development.

In fact, "fun" isn't enough of a factor when there are things in the game that are fun AND reward you properly. Or other games that reward you both with fun and progression / items for your character that someone might play.

Is basic MMORPG logic, really.

People here confuse Tier rewards with Rank rewards. They gave everyone the TIER rewards, yes, but the Rank rewards wont get released again as was said in a japanese interview with Yoshi P.

Regardless of how much some people want to defend and justify it (and its mostly people who have some of those top 100 items), old feast rewards are the only things in this game u literally cannot get no more. As a raider in this heavily pve oriented game, I never get anything time exlusive for doing week 1st clears. In fact, everything pve related gets easier over time, even ultimates. Do I care ? hell no. I don't need anything special to validate myself in front of the other people to confirm my skill level.

Current reward system is also garbage and I don't understand why they insist so much on time exclusive nonsense. Maybe because if it wasn't rewards, people wouldn't bother with pvp in this game ? In my opinion, they just follow bad design philosophy. Make the mode fun first. Then people will play it regardless of rewards. PVP team instead just keep pumping new rewards to incentivise people to play, but pvp itself is still a mess with netcode that completely excludes that mode from being called even remotely competetive. They tried to make pvp an esport for quite a bit and we all know how it turned out. It simply doesn't work. It's always been messy, it always had win trading, it always had randomness with who u get in your team, it always had people boosting other for real money. Some could argue that people buy ultimate clears too, but if someone buys TOP weapon, it doesnt take away my TOP weapon that I earned as a result of hours of prog and improvement. Boosters took away spots of some legitimate players just because they were pretty good at the mode. Also alts are worth mentioning. Some were greedy enough that they'd climb to top100 on various datacenters and servers just because they were doing literally nothing else in the game. Ah right, not to mention, feast seasons typically launched around other content release so if u wanted to do that instead, u were shit out of luck I guess.

Why the hell that mode in particular deserved anything that's special and time exlusive is just beyond me. Old stuff should defo still be accessible. Certainly not handed for free like some would prolly want, but accessible like literally everything else in this game.

You cannot compare PvE to PvP. In PvP, you are against other players rather than going against scripted PvE bosses.
In PvE, everyone wins, in PvP, there is a winner & a loser, which is reflected in the rewards. In this case, you are a loser for participating in the Feast and not getting to the top 100, which is fine.

For example, Argentina (Winner) won the last year's World Cup (Season) trophy (Reward) against France (Loser), do you think France would get the 2022 World Cup trophy in 2023 or any year later? No, but they can participate in the next World Cup in 2026 (New Season).

That is why I am more of "bring new rewards" rather than "return old rewards".
I also believe that PvE 1st world clears should get special rewards too because there is a Player vs Player element in it, granted they solve the cheating issues in raiding & PvE in general.

Your post not only doesn't make any sense but also contradicts itself. You say in pve everyone wins and there's no player vs player element, but then u say pve world first clears should get special rewards because there is in pvp element in that one. Which one is it then ? As far as I know not everybody wins say the omega protocol ultimate, only few thousands cleared worldwide. How is that everyone wins ? There's certainly people who will try and fail to beat that ultimate, guaranteed 100%. Folowing your twisted logic they're loosers in that case but hey guess what, they can still keep trying and get it in a year or two as it will remain accessible unlike old feast stuff.

You also mention cheating issues in pve. There are well documented, proven and persistant cheating issues for years in pvp too but of course you don't mention those as it doesn't suit your narration. There's been win trading, speed hacking, plugins used to track other people resources, boosters, people climbing on multiple chars for same server and the list goes on.
Then you also bring football into discussion to back up your point of view. In case u didn't know they compete against the very same trophy. As a matter of fact it's just a replica that barely changes. If France doesn't get it in a certain year, they can get it next time if they play better. Same trophy's gonna be accessible, unlike old feast rewards that are gone forever and barely ever seen in the game.
