I get being sad about not getting your plot, but why are so many people suddenly so butthurt? Yes, the lottery system is not perfect, but still FAR better than the old system. If you think otherwise, why don't you already own a plot? Oh yeah, because you couldn't be bothered to stand in front of a sign for 24+ hours and constantly click it. And even if you did, someone else could just come around and relocate their old house. Not even talking about the people with autoclickers who could click faster than a human ever could.
For sure I would love to promote someone else's mega post but do not see one going, so I would like to make one but finding out if it's better in general or in housing is the current experiment.
Very sad to see that happen since it takes time and energy to keep a post alive. I would have loved to come here and jump into a current mega thread though.
It does not look like anyone is taking it seriously enough on this forum to keep a mega thread alive, perhaps the duty falls to our shoulders to bear.To add to Canadane's note here... I am fairly certain the actual community reps/mods have mentioned before that given the way their tools work they are more likely to notice a single, big thread on a topic (and to be able to push said thread dev-wards) than they are a whole bunch of little shorter threads on a topic.
It may be viscerally satisfying to make a whole bunch of short threads about housing, let people post for several pages, and then post a new one, but if you want the devs to actually see the thread and consider the content, doing so probably works against your own goals.
(I mean, I have some degree of doubt that any thread's going to make a difference anyway, because I suspect there would need to be some significant changes on the back-end to make housing work fully instanced; I imagine they'd have to take smaller intermediate steps to get from point A to point B, and that the journey is a long enough one that the publisher might balk and tell the dev team "no." But hey, I'd love to be wrong, and it probably doesn't hurt to keep waving the pennant and hoping for change.)
It doesn't have to be fully instanced or destroy any wards also. We could keep the current ward system but also add instanced housing for the remainder of players who are missing out.
Basically housing for ALL!!!
