Something built around Zidane Tribal would be neat. Using dual-bladed Swords, with a kinda of 'Mystic Knight' or 'Rune Knight' theme to it. Could even call it's core ability Dyne, with it being based on Dyne...amis.
My hope? Puppet Master. Is it just because I really want that class to be added into the game? Yes.
Its possible. We did just get some hints at it in Lapis Manalis. I am crossing my fingers, thats for sure. It would also fit in with the theme 13th what with Calca and Brina originating from 4.

RDM IMO should have at least been something like a hybrid DPS that had physical damage skills using it's melee weapon along with magic damage in the form of spells. However I suppose the issue with that kind of design is how simplified the game is in regards to normal JRPG mechanics. Past iterations of RDM were normally a sort of jack of all trades job that could melee, nuke, heal, and support via buffs or debuffs. However in those past games they were usually outperformed in each individual aspect by jobs that specialized in that aspect trading tailored specializations other jobs possessed for overall flexibility. FFXIV's current design pretty much eliminates any use for job flexibility resulting in the RDM we have now that while isn't necessarily bad, it feels like a shell of it's past selves.
I could dig that. Maybe Adept or whatnot, as an agile, swift, fluid attacker wielding a staff as an actual weapon?
