Game keeps crashing to desktop with no error upon login.

Simple as that. I log in, launch the game, hit start, click my character, wait through queue, wait through load screen and poof. The game is dead. The game ran fine earlier today right up until me and some friends went to queue the new raid. I had run it a few times from Tuesday to Thursday so I know it's not more than my new computer can handle.

Been trying to fix it for 4 hours now and nothing works. Restarting, repairing, reinstalling drivers, the works.

A couple of times I got an error message atypical of the issues the game sometimes has with DX11, but for the most part it just closes with no error. I got a LOT of these after Endwalker released during the early access week from pre-ordering and right after several patches. Usually they'd stop being a problem overnight and I'm hoping that's the case again, but I'm getting super irritated having to deal with it time and time again.

I suspect today's patch has something to do with it and I'm honestly getting beyond fed-up of not being able to play the game I'm paying a sub for. I love XIV to bits, but this is getting really tiresome.

I can't be the only one with this issue, right? Seen tons of Reddit posts and citation from the forums that show this isn't an isolated incident. I just want to play the game I like, but at this rate I'm going to have to end my sub because there's no point paying for something that isn't working and I REALLY don't want to do that.

I ran into this same issue on Wednesday. Completed the latest raid, continued the quest chain, and attempted to take a party member's portal to Coerthas Central Highlands (CCH).

During the load-screen into CCH, my game crashes to desktop without error. Every time I attempt to log in, I get thru the queue, and as soon as the CCH load screen begins my game crashes again. This isn't due to yesterday (Thurs) patch, and was occurring for me on Wednesday.

When exactly did you crash? What zone were you loading into, if any? What zone are you trying to load in to on character log in?

I was in the Reach when we were loading into Euphrosyne. It was around 7pm GMT yesterday.

After waking up and trying again the game's working again so I suspect the maintenance team have applied a hotfix of some sort. But the fact that this seems to happen every patch now is more than a little on the annoying side.

If any mods are about, go ahead and lock this. Though I'll probably end up with the same issue when the next patch rolls around. ._.

I actually still have this issue. Logging in, get past the queue and then immediate crash to desktop with no error message or anything. Did you find a workaround or did it just fix istself?

Slept on it, game miraculously started working again in the morning the day after. It's been the same every time this happens and it'll probably keep happening each main patch until they find the DX kink and fix it for good. It's super irritating, but there's nothing I can do on my end that I haven't already tried.

I'm still having the issue as well, going on 5 days.

I was able to fix the issue by doing a full client reinstall. Might have been some corrupted assets or some such.

Hope this helps anyone that runs into this issue again.

The reinstall fixed it for me as well! I deleted everything, the config files as well, before reinstalling, and now it works for me, too

I'm sorry to hear that many of you were experiencing similar crashes. However, I am also glad that everyone was able to find a fix or found that the issue resolved on its own.
