Not this again... we paid for the game disk... so it's technically not F2PI'd really be disappointed if we couldn't get the swim suits this year! I was definitely looking forward to getting them since I couldn't play XIV last summer ; ;
EDIT: Also, it would be silly that f2p subscribers would be allowed an item that p2p subscribers wouldn't have access to. If there was a subscription fee back when the suits were released I could see them being exclusive, but there wasn't so it doesn't really make sense >_>
Just hope they add another method to get it for now...
To be honest the ones that missed this event do not deserve them at all. The game was free to play at that point in time and everybody was able to get these without a problem.
As long as they don't punish those of us that WERE there by not having new content, then it doesn't really matter to me.
Just do the same event again on top of the new one. I can only imagine that the code or whatever is still there.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.
What is all this f2p p2p nonsense now?
The game was never meant to be f2p, and money was spent on purchasing the game disk.
Just because SE decided to not charge a monthly fee because their game sucked does not mean it didn't cost everyone last year money to purchase the game, nor does it make it an f2p title at that point in time.
I love the mentality though:
"I didn't show up when the game had no monthly fee but I am here now to make sure I get legacy status! GIMME SHIT I WASN'T HERE TO OBTAIN WHEN IT WAS FREE!"
I am flabbergasted.
People didn't want to believe in this game a year ago, quit, missed out on a bunch of content, and are now demanding that content/items be provided to them because they missed it due to their own choice not to partake in the game at that point in time.
I can understand people who weren't able to participate, I refuse to understand people who want everything handed to them when they couldn't be arsed to stick around for the content in the first place.
And over some freaking bikinis. How is this a serious thing? Really.
SirOleas, you seem upset. Thanks for your input, really appreciated.
I'll have you know that I have bought the collector's edition, played the alpha, beta, and the first month of release. I have endured much more than the average gamer these days could and the game really tested your patience limits.
I don't understand why you're freaking out over this. I don't want things handed to me. I said that I heavily dislike missables of any kind. Have you ever played Final Fantasy Tactics? Or any type of game with that kind of stuff? It ain't fun to miss cool items, even if it's just "freaking bikinis". I would not have missed those if the game could at least run on my PC at more than 10 FPS during the first few weeks of release.
What I wish for SE to do is to make it so every item/story elements/gameplay content is available to every single player that plays the game. Is that too much asking for? Am I unreasonable for asking this? Entitled? Selfish? I don't think so.
So SE gives EVERYONE the chance to get something when the game is free for over 2 years, you choose not to take advantage of this and when you miss it, you go and complain when SE isn't releasing it again... yea, because it's totally not your fault for missing it..SirOleas, you seem upset. HOW DARE SE NOT GIVE ME MY BIKINI!? I WASN'T THERE! I'M ENTITLED TO THESE THINGS BECAUSE I CHOSE NOT TO GET THESE ITEMS WHEN I WAS GIVEN THE CHANCE!!!
You snooze, you lose. Deal with it. Equal opportunity's a bitch eh?

You might feel that way, but to me not everyone had a chance. They could have released a properly functioning game first so I could play the game normally during the first few months. But that is another matter. So SE gives EVERYONE the chance to get something when the game is free for over 2 years, you choose not to take advantage of this and when you miss it, you go and complain when SE isn't releasing it again... yea, because it's totally not your fault for missing it..

Yes I missed it, I know it and I'll eventually have to deal with it.
At this point the conversation will just revolve over me "complaining over nothing" and "being entitled" instead of properly addressing my issue with the game, which is missable items shouldn't be present in the game at all.
I just acquired a goobbue mount today, and it saddens me that it will not be available after 2.0. That will not stop me from complaining after about it because these things are not fun to permanently miss. What if I want to get a goobbue mount on an alternative character? I won't be able to!
I plan on also getting achievements and primal weapons that I hear will be removed on 2.0 too. That is wrong and these items/achievements should always be available to everyone.
I just created this thread to know if the bikinis would be returning. I didn't want this to evolve into a "I'm special because I endured the crappy first few months of the game" discussion.
Hmm...I remember when I played XI, and I saw people wearing festive yukata's and stuff from summer events, an dwhile I did feel bummed out, I waited it out till the next summer event.SirOleas, you seem upset. Thanks for your input, really appreciated.

While I understand your want of an event item, I don't quite understand why you feel that such things should be made readily available to everyone, regardless of time played or level.
Im dissapointed, yes. but I just re subbed for XIV, so naturally I don't expect to begiven anything that happened for last years in game events. that wouldn't be fair to the people who were there, and went through the little quest/craftline to get theirs.
And aside from that, if such things were freely available to the entire playerbase...well.. have you ever played a free to play MMO where everyone's running around in bathing suits and has whirlygigs on their hats, for nothing other than the fact that they think it looks cool?
No I feel that I have to disagree with you. Those items serve as a kind of badge of sorts. "I was there" type deals.
It looses its value when given freely to all.
So I say just be patient and wait for the next event! perhaps you'll be able to pick up something cooler than what they had last year! ^_^
I can't say anything about any biniki since I don't know what that is, but I sure do hope bikinis are at least buyable from a vendor this year myself. D:
I think it's fair that the events are one time only. Shows who has been here longest lol. Or some events, people just skip. I want something new this year :3
