Accidently bid on FC ward so I have a question

Someone I know accidently bid on an fc ward when they meant to bid on a personal. Since they already have an fc house IF they win but don't construct the plot on the new land, can they keep their old fc house? As in if they do not claim the winning plot at all can they simply not relocate? Thank you for any answers as I was unable to find any.

Winning the Lottery
・When you win the lottery, you must finalize your purchase of the plot by accessing the placard located at its entrance.
・You may finalize your purchase of a plot at any time during the results period.
* Should you fail to claim your plot of land during the results period despite having won the lottery, a 50% cancellation fee will be deducted from the deposit made at entry.
* If relocating from an existing plot, approximately 15% of the value of the old plot will be refunded to you. However, the amount deposited at entry will be the maximum refunded amount. Although the notation has changed as of Patch 6.1, the amount received by players remains the same as the amount previously notated as "30% of the minimum value of their old plot."
・Refunds for a given lottery period expire 90 days (Earth time) after the results period ends. Please be sure to accept your refund within this allotted time by accessing the same placard by which you entered the lottery.

They won't lose the existing house, but they will lose a lot of Gil (50% of the entry fee). If they can live with that, then so be it. They just have to collect their money after the results period ends and it goes into a new entry period. They have 90 days to claim the Gil back.

If they win but don't actually want to move their FC house, all they have to do is just say no to finalizing the purchase. Then just let the claim period lapse and collect 50% of their deposit from the placard after the next bidding period begins.

Oh thank you! I was a bit unsure of the wording from the lodestone so wanted to confirm elsewhere. I wasn't sure if it just auto moved your old plot and you just lose it forever. Thank you for making it more clear for me!

They are well within their right to create a new thread bitching about how bad the housing system is in their not so humble opinions.

Honestly, that was uncalled for. Someone makes a honest mistake and you want to hold it over their head.

That's what creates antagonistic players within the community.
