I do like the aspect of seeing what life was like x amount of years ago in a story, so Wings has been all right so far - if XIV does a time travel storyline eventually, I do hope they take a page out of XI's book for it since it was well done enough that it's a well-liked xpac. Honestly, all of the XI ones were. I'm excited to see where Adoulin goes though, I'm only far enough to have gotten the intro and my Mog Sanctuary haha.Wings dragged on way too long for my tastes, which is a shame because it had some interesting moments. I am a big Arceila fan though and I did enjoy the Andoulin story, though the stop points because of needing to use imperaturs kinda got annoying at points. Rhapsodies of Vana'diel was definitely up there with CoP in story enjoyment and I honestly think the two could compete with FFXIV's story. I think this weekend I am gonna make a character and go ninja since I have never played one past the SJ requirement in the 75 era.
God I had so many problems making gil back in the day. I finally got like 10mil... from my account getting hacked. They didn't have my account long and all my alts had their stuff, but the one character they transferred to a different server got a free transfer back for my troubles and I got to keep everything they had gotten, which included the gil and some non-EX NM drops (Leaping Boots and the like.) That was just before stuff like 2fa happened, so I probably got keylogged despite being pretty careful. Now I have a bunch of gil on top of that since they made some nice QoL changesHaven't done much with FFXI since a bit after Moogle Kupo 't aut launched after starting it back in like 2002 when it first launched in Japan. Back then I ran 3 subs at a time triple boxing the game on different devices and made a ton of alts to hold all my junk... which then later turned into gil generators also with gardening even though I didn't need gil and would do stuff like buy my own auction for a cursed hauberk -1 for the player gil cap just so some things would have listings in the history XD
Gustaberg is my absolute fave track, it's just so calming to listen to. It's also the one track in Theatrhythm that I constantly and consistently SSS the score on haha. I'm very music motivated in games too; if I hear a piece with no context, I want to play until I get the context and see where it plays. I got the soundtrack for XI + Zilart many years ago when I had just barely played and fell in love with the Zvahl Keep music. High level friend took me out there as a baby (I was like... lv30? 35?) just so I could sit and look at the area and listen to the music. Same with Hall of the Gods. I'll also hop into the Promyvion areas now for funsies to listen to the music and take in the ambience.I love it too, and it has a very special place in my heart. XI was my first MMO, and I have so many memories tied to it. I don't play it anymore, but I love to listen to the music from time to time to really hit those nostalgic strings. The music in that game really was something else and has no rival. Uematsu definitely has a signature you can hear in everything he works on. Zones I really enjoy listening to are Gustaberg, Ronfaure, Mhaura, Sanctuary of Zi'tah, and Altepa Desert.
Ugh! Now you've done it. Tissue time.
So much good music in XI, it's some of the best for me. Uematsu, Mizuta, and Tanioka have made some great tracks for it.
Metroidvanias, Soulslikes, Monster Hunter, the occasional RPG. I'm really surprised I even play this game because outside of Monster Hunter and 14 I don't like playing games with other people.

I don't know of you have ever done a Spell Sync build in Dragon's Dogma but if you haven't...you should. It's my favorite gimmick build and it's both broken and chaotic.
4 sorcerers, all same high tier spells, chain and piggyback off each other.
If not familiar with the mechanic...any high tier spell ( you'll know of there is a transparent circle around you when channeling. Example Bolide, Gicel, etc ) that is currently being channel can be synced in which you start your spell where they are at in the casting. What that means is if they are charging High Bolide...you can instant cast regular Bolide because the first level of the incantation is already done and then if you have the stamina and they are still charging up...you can then immediately start where they are at and then hit them with two high bolides...or 4 if your pawns are like "OK me too I guess".
TBH playing with other ppl can be entertaining as hell with monster hunter. Like recently with sunbreak fighting a MR valstrax. It takes off to do its big divebomb attack. the other 3 ppl scatter. I face tank it with my immortal gunlance build and it only chips off like 7% of my health. Later in the hunt it takes off to do it again. No one scatters. The 3 other ppl all get 1 shotted and the hunt instantly fails lol XD.
