Resolution Set to 1920 x 1080 is way oversized? Please Help me Fix it.

    Hello,

I have been playing @ 1920 x 1080 window mode for 3 weeks now. All of a sudden it has changed the actual size of the window to become almost 4 times that big. When i try to log in with this setting in the Config set up, I get the SquareEnix display at the very bottom right of my screen. It was working fine one day and then became like this ever since. I have tried restoring my system to earlier times and that didn't fix it. What I have to do in order to play Final Fantasy 14 in windowed mode is reduce the resolution to 1280 x 720 in order to fill my monitor, but the resolution that low makes everything HUGE. Is there something I am overlooking in terms of a fix for this problem. Please help me out. I miss my true window mode.

Make sure your resolution for your windows is set at the reccomended resolution for your monitor. If your monitor's resolution is 1920 x 1080, and it is currently set to that, open up ffxivconfig.exe and set your gaming resolution to 1920 x 1080. Done.

Also, there might be something going wrong with the Windows Magnifier, which you can turn off if you don't use it.

    Click Start
    > All Programs
    > Accessories
    > Ease of Access Center

Then click "Make the computer easier to use", uncheck "Turn On Magnifier", then click OK

I don't think that's related to the OP's issue. That's a flaw with how XIV renders the window. It doesn't take into account the taskbar size. A workaround is to set your taskbar to auto-hide. The solution is for SE to include additional window size options that take the taskbar into account so the window and taskbar don't overlap. This will ultimately be fixed in 2.0, according to SE, because they'll have a proper full-screen mode that allows the game to be minimized without it crashing.

It was the Windows Magnifier that was causing the issue. Thank you very much for the help.

Or just mash shift for a few seconds till the ease of access centre pops up.

Amount of times I'd press shft in a game to dash or whatever and get tabbed out to a box that says" Hi do you want to turn on the ease of access centre?" NO! You just got me killed god damn it!

Good suggestion though. I would have said make sure the windows res is right. magnifire probably wouldn't occur to me unless my desktop was also huge.
