    Chimera - Voice of the Dragon

    hello everyone.

    since 1.22b our group is having a little problem of finding a new save spot to not get hit from VotD.

    i usually tank chimera against a wall, while mages and brds stand in the middle.
    while the whms sometimes got hit by the voice the BLMs were save the whole time.

    today we tried some different positions.blms at walls, different positions in the middle, but we just can't find a good one.

    any of you guys tried CC lately and got an idea how to actually evade this attack?

    Obliusly, then you have chaotic chorus to deal with. Also, fuck ranged, go melee

    tried everything, no luck.even in chaotic chours range healers/blms got hit.
    this makes no sense to me anymore, why did they have to change votd in the first place?

    Maybe cause it never was the Idea behind the fight to have such a safe place? Maybe to weaken ranged stacking?

    well, any suggestions on how to do it without BLMs then?
    Chimera already has a ton of dangerous attacks, and to add up to that, traps everywhere near him after the 25% mark, which makes the life of a tank hard without constant healing.how should more than 3 close range DD's survive that?

    actually, melees from chimea after you incapacitate tail don't have dangerous moves. They get hit only from chaotic chorus (low damage) and voice of the ram (one curaga and gtfo). The real menance are pits, wich are avoidable making attemption

    wow, it sounds like you guys all do it differently than my group. We have everyone but the tank and DD stand against the far wall in a little nook that's kinda to the right as you first enter. WHMs stand at the front of the nook, and the BLMs at the back. It's perfectly safe. As long as everyone is in the right spot, the only one that ever gets hit by any of chimera's attacks is the tank and DD. In that spot, chimera gets tanked in the left corner facing the far wall (as you enter).

    Our pt setup is usually something like this for chimera:

    1 Tank
    2 WHM
    1 BRDs
    3 BLM
    1 any job

    Today, after we did all the new patch stuff, we returned to CC and found out that SE totally ruined our strat. We tried different spot combinations for hours but didnt work out a good one... Tho we got some wins, we didnt manage to get one single speedrun. Maybe its just the first frustration but we decided to do some AV tomorrow lol

    But I basically agree with SirOleas. Theres new stuff to find out.

    and yea, as aveline said, did you test it ever since 1.22b hit? i tried it with a similar position just that the whole thing happened on the left wall, but mages still got hit.
