It was both maddening and hilarious in equal measures about the chocobo feet when that mod was like "Oh yeah...good idea we are gonna look into it"

On an older thread I stated that I was amenable to listen to an opposing argument and willing to change my mind on a topic if presented with a convincing schpiel.

The response was along the lines of "no you won't, I know exactly how you think and feel about things forever and you will always disagree with me because I've decided you will"

People on the forum go to such lengths to argue and villify others that they even refuse to entertain the possibility of a good outcome of a discussion where minds can change and people agree.
So I just stopped posting since at that point I just realized that 'discussion' is only the goal of a very few, paling before the goal of 'owning' the 'other'. Now I just lurk because I feel greatly entertained by certain peoples' takes on here.

Just admit it, OP. Sometimes people here earn a little disrespect, and it's really that simple. I'll just say it: This place is full of some of the most annoying selfish irritating and also objectively incorrect people I've ever communicated with in this entire game. Like... no, sometimes "both sides" don't have a point. Sometimes the people here are just blatantly incorrect, or they'll hold "opinions" that are totally unreasonable, and when you ask them to elaborate a little, they just reveal how selfish and childlike they really are. I toe the line in my posts and even I find it hard to not go over it, but I seriously can't help it sometimes. People who barely read your posts, engage in bad faith with bad faith arguments regularly, and behave like they're paid company shills or parodies of the "got mine" attitude don't deserve your good will or your polite engagement. To use your example: A guy on here just asked for more sitting options and his thread's blowing up with people for whom the crux of their argument is essentially "I wouldn't want to use this optional feature because I think sitting like a woman is gross, so I don't think anyone else should be able to either." There it is. "I don't like this optional thing, so nobody else should have it." That's like, the prominent attitude on display here in just about every thread. Both sides don't have a point there. One side is being petulant, childlike, and ridiculous. That's like 80% of the people here. It's a reason these forums are a meme on every other XIV platform.

I mean sure, the rest of your post has a point... but Aveyond, really? He hasn't been all that comprehensive for a while. Not since he started shoving his one view of how the game should work down any form of feedback or suggestion.

Just be glad some of you weren't here when the forums opened and into some expansions. You couldn't say a thing about
this game without the White Knights high jumping and diving down your damn throat because you don't like something.
I'm surprised to see more people kinda just more open to opinions these days. Finally coming around I guess.

1 - Bold of you to assume I'm so much as even trying to be an upstanding citizen. I'm just sane enough to say the guy is deranged. You don't see me going around and constantly telling people that want anything that wasn't in the previous classical FF games to not be a good addition, like they somehow physically harmed him.

I only started calling him out this week, and people are throwing crap at me like I've been doing it the whole time. Well. Shows what you lot know.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll stop talking about him and interacting with his posts ^^ Because it feels like the sanest thing to do.

But if he comes to my posts again and trashes the idea just because it doesn't fit into his stupidly-restricted monochrome and classisist way of viewing the game, then don't blame me for telling him off.

2 - No, but I was here to hear A LOT of insults thrown at other races just because they wanted additions and fixes. I was here to hear A LOT of crap about stuff people enjoyed without even giving a darn about whether it was fine to enjoy them or not.

What you just posted is the epitome of cowardice.

I think the main issue is that he keeps being brought into conversations that don't involve him. I'm all for calling him out when he has some...uh, interesting takes (I'll be nice), and every once in a while I will agree with something he said, but I have noticed that he tends to live rent-free in other peoples' heads.
