I'm making good gil off Pactmaker on one of my alts right now because all the materials except Hannish Fiber are dirt cheap on the MB and most of the end game crafters are so focused on Indagator, they're ignoring the players who don't want to pay Indagator prices to equip their retainers. And of course the bots moved onto Indagator as well so I don't have to worry about them.

On the other hand, you could be manipulating prices yourself to take advantage of the bots if they're that mindless. Get them to undercut low, then buy them out as soon as they undercut and relist. If sales are that good, you should be making a profit before they do their next bi-hourly price check.
Nah, I sell many things and mainly older stuff. Pretty much zero competition except for bots (who sell every item) and the odd clueless undercutter. The items I mainly put up for sale don't sell THAT fast but they sell like once or twice a week which adds up when you sell like 100+ items. I can't buyout bot items because they relist the items instantly. I tried that a few times over the years and just ended up with a bunch of items. Bots don't update bi-hourly but every 10 minutes. Good luck with that.

Thank you, my luck has been just fine on mb sales. I'm not stressing myself out over whether I'm competing against bots. Things either sell reasonably quick for the item type and I keep making more to list, or they don't and I find something else to sell in their place.

Luck to you in turn. Sounds like you're going head on against the bots far more than I do.

lately I haven't done any crafting and selling on the market because all prices seem undercut where I can't even earn back the invested money for the materials (I have little time so I buy materials on the market).
It feels like I would be wasting my time making an effort... heck buying furniture from NPC's and selling them for a higher price is more effective then selling crafted items which should be the other way around.

I once was at home and updated my prices 10x... it took me 30 minutes to update all prices on my retainers. Know how much it took on average to be undercut again on almost all my items? 1 to 5 minutes every time.

Nowadays I only still update my prices once a month... don't care anymore.

There's no value to a lot of the market items since they come for free from ventures. People list them for any price and any price is a profit. If it wasn't possible to just magic items from ventures then prices would be a lot more stable.

I don't really understand the people who put items on the marketboard for exactly the item price though... or less...

Spot on. There is so much free stuff entering the server in the form of ventures (and other methods) that it removed the value of many items on the marketboard. There are so many times that I look up the value of some crafting material and the value of the material is more than the final product on the MB because the MB is just littered with venture trash. The raw material only has value because somebody probably wants to complete their crafting log, so they need it.

I tried crafting recently and undercutting has really hurt trying to make a simple profit on stuff. Things normally going for 1.4 million now goes to 500K. Normally, I took to resolving it to just buying it and reselling it from there, but it can be a hassle. lol

Depending on what the item is, buying to resell comes with an inherent risk. If you buy my 500k item and relist it at 100k, I can just make another item and list it at 500k again. But if we are talking harder to get items, like rare mounts, the risk is likely less. But anything that is readily available to create more... reselling is risky (but possibly worthwhile, depending on the circumstances).
