Suggestion: Separate simplified UI for casual content

There is a lot of casual content in the game that doesn't require the usual trappings of a DOW/DOM/DOL/DOH. For example: Gold Saucer, Housing, Island Sanctuary, Idling in main cities to name a few.

Having a UI hotbar, party frames and duty lists often get in the way and ruin the ambient experience for these activities. Having to write macros to remove all of this stuff is quite cumbersome and it feels like we should be able to swap to an "everyday citizen" via one click.

I'd like to propose that we have system we can macro to a button or select from a menu that creates a simplified UI specifically for this casual content, removing all the clutter and leaving a clean interface for chatting, exploring, house designing and saucer shenanigans.

    We... do.

Here, I'll share my one-button-macro that simplifies the UI out of combat.

    /hud minimap
    /hotbar display 1
    /hotbar display 2
    /hotbar display 3
    /hud param
    /hud igrid
    /hud dlist
    /hud SInfoEnhancements
    /hud SInfoConditionalEnhancements
    /hud SInfoEnfeeblements
    /hud SInfoOther
    /hud ScenarioGuide
    /hud targetbar
    /hud pethotbar

The only thing it can't get rid of is the job gauge, but it's easy enough to make a second hotbar layout, copy everything from the first one, and just move the job gauge out of the way. Then have the macro toggle the second hotbar layout, with a second macro "back" button that toggles the first hotbar layout.

Here's what this does for me:

Edit: An easier way of doing this, would be to make a second hotbar layout with everything turned off save for what you want, and make a macro that replaces hotbar layout 1 with hotbar layout 2, and switches the hotbar toggle button with a back button. I have mine the way it is because I have a macro menu that I really don't want to mess up.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
