    Your payment system is abysmal

    Honestly you should be ashamed for putting your customers through so much headache just to purchase your damn products. Any other company would be eager to do ANYTHING to get the customer's money.

    My subscription did not renew because of 'payment error' even though my card has sufficient balance.
    I go and try to buy gametime from YOUR OFFICIAL website- you take my money but not give me the codes.

    Your mogstation throws a random error without any clarification.

    I contact your customer support and it's just incompetent; all you send me is copy pasted garbage with NO REAL HELP.

    No. I'm not happy playing your game. No I'm not looking forward to play. I dread the day I have to resub because your system is outdated and ANYTHING trips it.

    How many hoops do I have to jump through to give you my money? I'd like to recieve what I paid for.

    As for the TOPIC AT HAND. Yes it sucks. Bad. I have not encountered an issue -yet- but my partner did, and the forums and Reddit are FULL of complaint and or support threads. Their website looks and acts like it was designed in the 90's. Indeed frustrating. I hope you get it resolved soon.

    If you get the 601 error you can usually get past it by using PayPal and using the card that way, strange how Mogstation rejects cards but the SE store doesn't seem to have a problem, even using the same rejected card to buy Gametime.

    Still, if you look back in time during 2002-2009 era FF11 payment through SE's "PlayOnline" it was a total mess, often rejected cards and was the only way to Pay, no other option, and if you got blocked, it lasted usually weeks to months, causing players to quit, and they did nothing to help you.

    Same. My sub was cancelled suddenly over a month ago and my card was rejected. Same card I've been using for at least a year - card is in good standing and not expired.

    I've tried periodically to add a payment method for over a month and still haven't been successful. Just tried again today and now I get ERROR (-24202), which is supposedly an issue with browser extensions. I mean - safari actually says "No extensions" when I check. Everytime I try it's just a different error code. I've submitted tickets for it and they tell me to wait a few days and try again. The only way I've been able to play is by buying crysta (ugh). I'm really surprised there hasn't been a post about it.

    This reminds me of when I bought the game a year ago.

    My preferred payment method is PayPal but they don't let you buy gametime with PayPal. They do however let you buy their online store currency Crysta with PayPal and you can then use Crysta to buy gametime.
    So what I did is I bought the necessary Crysta but when I went ahead and tried to buy the gametime I would just run into error messages telling me I can't buy the gametime with Crysta. These persisted even when I tried again later that day and on the next day. I was tempted to chargeback my purchase (and probably take a ban) because needless to say I felt cheated out of my money. And if the company that cheated me out of my money banned me then so be it.
    It's only when I tried again on the third day that the gametime purchase through Crysta went through.

    This doesn't even mention the lengths I had to go just to find the download button for the launcher (hidden at the very bottom of their website) and figuring out which game package from which website for which launcher I need to buy. Purchasing this game is like a puzzle. I recently helped a friend download and buy the game and he unironically laughed his ass off at how convoluted and ridiculous the whole process is (Me:"Ok next you need to go to this website and scroll down to the very bottom. There you will find a small button in grey that says [Download Game]." Friend:"... Do they not want me to play their game?").

    I had a similar experience when I first bought the game 3 years ago. I was so excited to play I bought the game immediately, I went to extend my sub beyond the first 'free' 30 days you get. What did I get? Tripping their garbage payment system. Contact support? Could have as well been bots. I explain what I tried- they gave me the same copy paste response. Honestly when talking to support I genuinely wonder if there's a human being beyond.

    Needless to say I felt cheated and the negative experience ruined my enjoyment of the MSQ because I felt like I paid for a game that at the time I liked and wanted to continue but the company didn't want my money...despite letting me buy their game. Absurd. Absolutely absurd and shameful. I never had to deal with customer support as incompetent as this or a website so user unfriendly before.

    I never wished to have issues with this game and I was quite content when my card back then was working normally...and every 6 months I had this moment of 'dread' of 'what could go wrong?'....A user shouldn't feel dread when using a service.

    I got around this by asking a friend to buy me a game time card...until I find a solution. I guess I'll find out in 2 months. I never used paypal before so I don't know how paying with crysta even works.

    P.S : They still have not refunded the money they said they'd refund. Absolutely lovely.

    I have paypal, credit and debit cards... THE ONLY way that i can pay this game is via purchasing crysta with paypal and then pay subscription via crysta.
    every other method fails ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


    Edit: (Also in the past, like till 3-4 years ago, i was able to pay directly via credit card, i never changed bank or anything but that does not work anymore, it charges me 1 euro when i register it and then it does not work)

    Just heard today that there was a news post on 1/24: "In late February, we are planning to change the payment processor used for purchases made on the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station, FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store, and Square Enix Account Management sites..."

    It's on the lodestone if you want to read it in full, but i'm guessing that preparing for that change is what has caused our issues behind the scenes. Maybe by the end of the month it will be straightened out and I can finally use a card again. I hadn't heard about this until today, so I thought I'd pass it along.
