Lets talk about environment specific actions in frontline Pvp. This mechanic of knocking players down from high places is not consistent. If some classes can do this all classes should be able to do it. Why? Because GRAVITY. Every player can try to run off the highest places without using any skill and 100% of the time they'll die. If this is the law of falling from high places how come only a few people have access to it?
I'll tell you what. I don't agree with every class getting knockbacks or draw-ins. The tank and ranged dps classes deserve that. What I'm advocating for is an environment specific features where certain actions are available depending on the scenario and all classes would have access to them.
When you're near the ledges or cliffs or stairs-high places-specific features should be available with a huge cost on MP and a long cooldown. Lets just say that the feature is called "Punt". When someone is near a high place within a few malms of the edge the action "PUNT" will become available and then YOU'RE FREE TO PUNT PEOPLE OFF!!
Even better..if there was another environment-specific action to COUNTER the PUNTING to make the punter fall instead OR to drag the punter and both party fall to their death because it's more..realistically funny that way. Like why would you get pushed off the cliff and not drag someone with you? It's just human nature. Oh man that would be hilariously AWESOME. Ah..but FFXIV can't do something cool like that.
No classes should be able to abuse such a silly-nonsensical mechanic. It should be available for every class. I'm fine if some classes that already have knock back or draw in skills get an extra punting skill. As long as I can find a way to retaliate against it I'm okay if they have an extra round to use. Using debuffs is nice but what if there's group of players that want to knock you off one after another? RIP since you used your debuffs already. Pvp should be about talent instead of abusing mechanics-either fix it or make it available for everyone.
That's my suggestion. Frontline Pvp should have a new mechanic specific to the scenario or environment that only available when the situation calls for it. I want PVP to be fun and BETTER.
