Conveniently forgets that by doing a server transfer, you leave your FC and friends behind. Sure you can visit from time to time but it’s not exactly the same. Not everyone wants that. I did because I wanted a medium and got it. Now trying to upgrade for a Large.

But again, it’s not an easy decision especially if you’ve been on the server for a while with friends.

I know, made my choice but it’s a pity you have to do that in a game we play to chill after work (most of us at least).

This. If houses were strictly cosmetic, it'd be one thing, but things like cross-pollenating crops and training chocobos are mechanics that players should not be locked out of just because they're unlucky, solitary, or on congested servers. Even being willing to ignore the endgame of decoration and furnishings, if you are going to lock actual game mechanics behind a wall of RNG, you need to make an alternative available to players who don't want to participate in that rat race. Even if it's just an instanced gardening plot and stable.
