    Enough with dungeon backtracking in MSQ please

    It's starting to get really stale how the game forces us to walk through dungeons devoid of anything interesting immediately after we clear them to pad for content. Either make new areas or send us back to the already established fleshed out areas. This has been a problem since the Nier raids and has pervaded the last couple of patches. It feels really cheap and detracts from the experience of the dungeon.

    I don't agree.

    For me it's making the trip into a dungeon more meaningful. There's a reason to be in there besides just killing some random monster or villain. If anything, I think there is potential for more use in the MSQ.

    There is one thing I dislike: being separated from my party members if we're doing MSQ together. While I know that SE is trying to make the game feel better to solo players, it's still a MMO and those who want to play together shouldn't be force separated. It should be possible to accommodate both since these segments of the MSQ are just Explorer mode with a purpose.

    Agreed. If there's going to be this story exclusive zone anyway, which there is, then making it the same zone as the dungeon lends that dungeon greater importance to the story, and allows me time to explore it properly without the pressure of a speed running dungeon duty.

    Agreed. They made some really good steps with EW with this and other things related to this.

    MSQ used to be "talk to one of the scions... then... they'd magically teleport to the other end of the town/zone/etc."
    Dungeons used to be "meet up with these supposed heroes outside... and then you are on your own to do the dirty work."
    Dungeons used to also be "we need to do something in this dungeon, but it is just a wall-to-wall trash and boss smash."

    They changed it to actually exploring areas with these NPCs with the "escort" aspect as well as the dungeon backtracking. And with Trust system, we actually do this content with these other supposed heroes (I say supposed because they need to learn to AOE already).

    I think it is a good addition personally. I hope they continue to do it. Both zones that they've had this added to the MSQ instead of detracted from it.

    I don't mind walking around the dungeon or having it used to pad the story bits, but I definitely don't want to depend on other players to do solo content or progress the story. I think the way things are now is fine.

    But I also wouldn't mind to relegate busywork to cutscenes either. :P



    What rustle my jimmies more are things like we not having the 4 demon lords as 4 trials but instead just 2 because the other 2 are dungeon bosses. Feels a bit off.
