Again, I don't disagree???
Do people just assume because I'm posting in this topic I automatically side with the TC???
Not saying you don't, just pointing out that this is the best we are going to get till supply is fixed. Increased prices aren't going to change anything other than skew the system towards people who have been playing longer, which is unfair in itself. The other issue is that it will encourage people to RMT to afford the higher prices, especially if it is something that is patched in without much notice for people to accumulate gil, which again would be unfair towards newer players.
I agree, if you are trying to purchase your first house and all that are available are smalls, should be an easy choice. I also agree that if housing means that much to you there is a very large supply on Dynamis for NA players and DC travel is a thing so you can still do things with your friends.

The current prices aren't exactly easily accessible for newer players as it is, and I don't see lowering the prices any further to be a decent suggestion or feasible. It is after all intended to be a gil sink. Not saying you don't, just pointing out that this is the best we are going to get till supply is fixed. Gil seems to be getting easier and easier for players to amass, generating inflation (because not enough gold sinks), and inflation ultimately leads to a larger divide between newer and older players anyway.
The entire system, from purchasing the plot, to building the house, to buying the furnishings, and for FCs, building the airships/subs, it all takes vast amounts of gil. It's not something new players are getting into right away anyway.
My intention was to suggest something that fit this reality a little better, and maybe increasing the prices of Small's is entirely unnecessary, as this would make Small's a feasible goal for newer players still. But Mediums and Larges are almost certainly under-priced for the economy in this game, they should require time investment and preparation, and should be a longer term goal for players who have been around a bit longer. Just as Clearing an Ultimate is a long term goal you set for yourself after you clear Savages, which is after you clear Extremes, and so on.
Again, I say this as someone who merely has a Small and is entirely content with it. I have no stake in this.
If this system would get more players moving away from the Mediums and Larges with 50+ bids per lottery round, and more towards the Smalls with 0-2 bids per lottery round, then it's doing something productive.

I kind of disagree about smalls not being accessible to newer players, probably not at the end of ARR, but towards the end of HW I was closing in on the 3m mark on one of my alts. Granted that comes with prior knowledge and selling most of the quest rewards. Maybe it has changed since I last did a play through, but I think the gil should be obtainable by SB or ShB for a lot of newer players, especially if they were in the save gil mindset with a goal of purchasing a house.
