I specifically chose the Goblet because I liked the area down in Brimming Heart more than the other areas. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have the small right next to the waterfall, and love it. I'm not a fan of Lav Beds, and my FC house is in Mist. I have no interest in Snow Hell or Weeb City. Unless they introduce an area I care about for housing (Sharlayan would be one) and would like the designs of the base houses, I don't see myself wanting to move or get out. There's not really much you can do with a desert clime either to make it "prettier," and I say this as someone who lives about an hour away from the non-developed desert in my state: the Goblet/Thanalan looks exactly like the desert outside of the developed cities near my own home. (...maybe that's why I enjoy the area, reminds me of home lmao)

So, now you know one person who likes the Goblet and doesn't want to move. :P

I spent a lot of time searching for a plot I liked, and whilst the others did appeal I found a specific plot at the Goblet which I knew I wanted.

Granted it's a Small house but to be honest, it suits me just fine - it has a Market board on it's doorstep, an Aetheryte shard right oposite (aside from my own mini-Aetheryte on my plot) and this:




I absolutely love the view from the rear of the house.
And the bonus was that the Goblet not being to everyone's taste worked in my favour - I had no competition for the plot on the Ward I selected.

Well, I'm happy you two love the goblet so much. ... See I'm different bc I want to live in an area nowhere like the place I live irl. I live in the south where I never see snow(which I love snow ALOT) so that is why I want to live in ishgead badly but thanks to this lottery system and the limited amounts meds and lrgs I most like never will. I'll never be able to be in an area I actually like, or a yard I want to make it look nice. You call ishgard a snow hell but I call it heaven. The real hell for me is the goblet and it's a hell I most like never be able to escape from either...

Normally I love the snow areas in jrpgs because I also love the snow (not... driving in it.... but it's pretty to watch when you have nowhere to go), but I'm not a fan of Ishgard lol. Though I realized there's a pretty big similarity to where I live, my decision was driven by the fact I roleplay and Ul'dah is where my character has been residing since she came to Eorzea. Made sense for her to live in the Goblet. My dream area is the Hinterlands but alas, that won't happen for many reasons unless somehow Idyllshire gets a housing ward, but that'd be odd. Wish I could send the metric f[kupo]kton of snow we got over New Years over to you, I have enough to share (and I do still want more on the ground.)

I had competition when my ward first opened (3.3 I think? I'm in ward 9 and that was when it was first opened) but not a lot of people were in the Goblet. I lost the plot I'm in now to someone else who got there not long before me, but I got the small house directly across the way with the Med in between. When I saw my dream plot opened a few patches later, you better believe I relo'd to it! The waterfalls into the pools is really nice, probably my fave part of the entire Goblet.

You are really lucky to have such a nice view from your small. Mine isnt so nice tbh and one of the reasons I hate goblet. Here is the view I have:

Nor did I call you unhinged, I said the solution you were offering sounds unhinged, and then you went into aggro mode because someone disagreed with you. It's a bad workaround for anyone, you shouldn't be expected to have to spend real money to have a *chance* at a house. That's just outright predatory. The solution right now is literally more wards until SE can manage something that's less of a bandaid and more of a an actual fix, which we all know probably won't be coming. The raffle system is fair (though idk how fair it is for FCs to have multiple members zerg a plot with bids, but other than that!) even if it's frustrating, pretty sure most of us here agree with that.

Having gotten a small with the old system losing it because I was in the hospital for a year. Getting a 2nd one with the old system.
Moving this time to a medium house, this time was way better.

Hard disagree, I would rather go bid on something then go play the game instead of sitting at a placard for hours to have a relocator pop in and take it from me or leave to go to the restroom and have someone else win the plot while I was gone. It was a toxic system that almost incentivized people to bot and should never come back.

Nope. You can plan ahead with the lottery, scouting out locations and which houses have the fewest bids. By waiting until near the deadline, you can find the best odds of getting a house. You also don't have to fight against bots.
