The forums are where they are going to get the information on whether something has interest or not. The forums are also a small percentage of the playerbase. Pointing that out isn't negating that there are people outside the forums that may want this. Also if those people aren't voicing their interests then how are the developers going to know?
No I acknowledge your point, I just think it's stupid lmao.

And idk dude, there's a lot of ways to gauge player interest. Restaurants and retail have been gauging customer interest for a long time without people voicing their complaints. Most people don't complain directly really. Ever heard the phrase "they decide with their feet"? Certainly there are people who work at SE who look at hard numbers, player engagement, scour through Twitter/Reddit/whatever social media to gauge interest, players voice their interests or disinterest in more ways than you'd think. Tbh, the fact is the demand *is* enough for SE to consider ungendering outfits. Those same people are probably the ones who would majority support ungendered idles/sits as well. To SE, the number is significant enough to bother doing this, so it can be reasoned that ungendered sits/idles, if possible, would be at least a bit on the radar, but who know?

"I don't like it so I'm going to disregard it". Basically.

Retailers are physical locations. If people aren't showing up in the numbers they expected then they can clearly see whatever they're doing isn't working as intended. They also have paid advertisements on websites to aggregate information for them whereas the developers don't have that luxury. All they have is what people tell them.

Social media websites/platforms/YouTube literally do the same thing tho. Why do you think Facebook/Twitter changed so much? Part of it is users complaining, other part of it is because they know where to look in gauging user interest. Why did Google+ fail for example? Google sucks ass when it comes to user engagement, but you have to agree that Twitter/Facebook are experts at it for a reason. I use restaurants/retails because it's easy lmao. You can apply it online too because it requires the same amount of studying.

And yeah I am going to disregard it bcos at the minimum you and I don't have to be disagreeing at the same point, we're just talking in circles otherwise.

Google/Youtube, Facebook and Twitter are completely different entities compared to an online game and the developers behind it. Their whole model is about gathering user data and moulding themselves to fit what they think people want so they can collect even more data and even then they get it disasterously wrong (Google+, Meta) and seeing as they control the platforms by which people communicate, it's not difficult for them to attain this data.
