Both sides are trying to claim they're arguing from a point of wanting uniqueness, so that's not getting us anywhere. That's the semantics problem here. Your idea of uniqueness is boring and odd character limitations in my eyes. My idea of uniqueness is devaluing the point of distinct races in your eyes.
Your comment on forgoing existing uniqueness only came about after I replied to you. Your original comment was
"Don't yall know by now? Many won't be satisfied til nothing is tied to a gender n the game is fully neutral. Wanting things to stay as they currently are n wanting some uniqueness is "cringe n sickening".
Wake up people "
Maybe you still meant the same thing, but I read that was wanting uniqueness is seen as cringe. It's not, as character uniqueness is what I want to see.
When it comes to locked emotes, your character is basically locked or forced into a given personality. Highlander emotes are all expressive and non subtle for instance. You may desire to play a highlander that is less emotional or very formal, but then your emotes don't fit.
That why people don't like locked emotes, etc. In a game where you're supposed to define your character, why are we arbitrarily limited to a handful of options? Especially when the developers only have finite resources. Some people have suggested just making more exclusive poses, but I feel like that's such a waste. The developers go through the effort of making 50 poses, maybe 5 of which are perfect for your character, but you can't have them because reasons and instead get 5 poses that mean absolutely nothing to you. Just give us all 50 and let us choose what's best.
I wouldn't consider how I sit to have anything to do with defining my sex.
If people want it I'm not against it, although one difference here, the devs may very well put more work on themselves separating emotes and poses than by just giving them to everyone. How true that is depends on how the game is coded, but we know that emotes can work for everyone. The most basic request in this thread is pretty trivial in terms of what it demands from the devs.
It's funny how on point this is. This is the crux of the entire thread. That people vary on an individual basis, yet in game this sometimes isn't captured because of locked content.
Video games as a whole are unnecessary in the first place. This isn't about need as much as it is wanting a better game. I feel like if players are being given the choice to create their characters, we shouldn't have to deal with arbitrary limits. Male and female range of motion is nearly identical. It makes gendered emotes just seem weird. As for my take on the whole thing: I feel like it's unecessary to have every thing needing to be distributed to every race/gender/role/what have you, but if they did it wholey wouldn't bother me.
