I don't know it still seems to hold up aside from a few forum trolls, the overwhelming demand seems to come from female characters wanting male glams and animations.

If you're going to brand anyone who wants it as a troll, then yeah, you're not going to see anyone but trolls asking for it.
People can also have characters of both genders, and the one they have on their avatar is not automatically the one they want the unlocks for.

Sure I get your idea of wanting to be unique and you can still have that. It literally comes with playing your race. And if a races uniqueness is limited to just a few animations then that's pretty sad. There's still lore, hairs, etc. that can make the race unique. Giving other races/genders/etc a few more emotes isn't gonna kill the uniqueness of any one race. It just create inclusitivity.
As for your comment on "Why even play certain races if they're just an inferior version of something else?" this is such an odd question. Surely you don't think bunny boys are perfect in every way do you. You've never gone, "Damn I wish I had that" There's no inferior race and it's not only female Au ra players (im a chronic fantasier if you are also referring to me) it's just a fun little idea for having a unique character.

One of the more common requests on here is asking for male viera hair on all races and genders so I really can't believe that it's not about just taking things that make the races and genders unique one by one.Sure I get your idea of wanting to be unique and you can still have that. I have had the "I wish I had that" but then I realize I have things to my own race or gender that are cool and I forget about it. I can't wear hats, I can't use a lot of glam options, but I have some that are great, and I just use those.
The thing is I don't want what's unique about my characters gender and race taken away from it. If Miqo and Aura have the same options as I do but also have hats and legacy armor glam, why would I ever play viera?

I don't know I guess your mind is too small to see the bigger picture. You can still have a uniqueness outside of hair and animations.
Sorry for the day F and M Viera get to wear hats and you lose all your uniqueness I guess.
I guess you guys will still have a broken spine...

I have never seen requests for male Viera hair any more frequently than requests for other races. If anything, maybe because it's the most recent designs and people have moved past whatever previous option never became available either? One of the more common requests on here is asking for male viera hair on all races and genders so I really can't believe that it's not about just taking things that make the races and genders unique one by one.

If you stop wanting to be a Viera because other characters can use your stuff, then that's your own issue. Why are you playing male Viera now? For the incredibly small pool of race-unique gear and hairstyles?
If everyone had access to the same things, and that was enough to make you not want to be Viera any more, then... what? Where's the problem?
If you're dedicated to your current character's appearance, then you've lost nothing. If you want to jump ship, one Fantasia doesn't cost that much once evened out over however long you'll be getting enjoyment from your character design.
Some of us play mviera because guess what? Some of our favorite NPCs use Viera faces. Do you honestly think I'd be playing Elidibus as a male viera if I could use his hair on a middy? Helllll no lol. Besides, some of us can get the same look through texture mods, and do, and you don't even know it, so where is it harming "your racial/gender identity"?One of the more common requests on here is asking for male viera hair on all races and genders so I really can't believe that it's not about just taking things that make the races and genders unique one by one.

I mean cool, don't use it. There are people who would and do want to. You don't have to use it, there's a lot of us who do.

Then you really do not understand the frustration of playing a female character who doesn't act feminine at all. We go for the designs, don't know about the animation quirks, and then everything feels weird when you're someone who runs around in masculine clothing and armor but you sit like a cutesy anime character. And it's not the same to play as a male character because again, clothing doesn't fit right or some stuff is locked.I mean there is, they're poses designed specifically for those genders to look good with the model type and to make different gendered characters feels different, while giving each somethign unique.
You don't need to have access to everything if there's an equal but different selection for each race and gender. It's something that makes the races and genders in this game feel different and unique if they all have something different to offer.
In the same way that different races have different animations, different genders have different idle poses. Having subtle differences is good and makes having a male vs female character feel different in this game, just like playing a miqo vs playing a hyur feels different based on their different animations.
It's very curious though how these posts are always people who play female aura, miqo, or hyur demanding the male animations, glam, etc because they want all of the options. If you can wear rabbit ears on your character, have access to all the glams I have, have my animations and poses, what makes my character anything but an inferior version of yours?
Why even play certain races if they're just an inferior version of something else?
There's nothing wrong with asking for more diversity in presentation for characters. This stuff should not be race or gender locked because it feels like turning personality into a racial trait, because each race and gender combo has a completely different feel to it than what you may be working with. I'm not bothered by the femra run, but I know some people would want it more feminine like female middies. Plenty of people like how cutesy femra are, but I know I would sure prefer the female highlander or roegadyn emotes.
Square has universal animations to begin with and the existence of Zero and her animations proves it is possible. I would just like those options - that you, again, do not have to use - available for people like myself who are looking for a bit of variety in how their characters present because it frankly goes beyond sitting poses, but this would be a good place to start.

W o w. Had a feeling this was going to come out at some point, but so quickly is a surprise. Newsflash: no one is saying remove the feminine stuff, and besides, the reinforcement of gendernorms is antifeminist in its essence. But that's not what the point of this is.How does supporting femininity make me a misogynist? Do you even know what this word means? Clearly you do not, and love to use buzz words instead of thinking for yourself.
I am expressing an opinion, and if you want to spend time on the internet, I would highly suggest learning to deal that there are people who not only do not support your views, but outright oppose them.
Stop making mountains out of molehills. Also learn that constructive feedback =/= only feedback that agrees with the OP. I happen to like to sit. I usually do it when I AFK for a bio break, to grab a drink, or when I am putting together a gathering list for a crafting session. Why should I lose this because some players want their female characters to behave like dudes, while the option exists for you to just select a male avatar?
The lot of you need to realize that not everyone is on board the agenda to abolish gender norms, especially when it comes to development time in FFXIV. I would sooner have them unlock the cposes that are exclusive to other races, but I don't really support that either.
We are asking for more options for presentation that you do not have to engage in. And if it's such an issue, the cpose roulette could be changed to match the minion one where you choose what gets included.
We are literally asking for options that you do not need to participate in. Keep your feminine highlander, this isn't about you this is about people who actually want this implemented for their own sake and comfort.
