Need more wards.

Maybe some servers need new wards. On Leviathan, 107 plots are still available in the new wards. 3 or 4 of them are mediums. If someone wanted a house, they'd have gone for the small with 0 bids. For the vast majority of the this server, if you wanted a house, you have one.

Leviathan isn't the most populous server, but it is one of the most active-populated servers. Lesser populated servers should have a surplus of houses by now.

My main is on Leviathan. 28 lotteries, 28 losses. I bid on a small and it was at zero. So were all the smalls around me until 2 days in. Then people started bidding on the others. Then a second bid on the one I had bid on. None of the other lots had more than one bid. Now, that's the way it goes, however, whomever bid on the lot won, and never claimed it. Still saddens me. So I'm trying yet again a 29th time. Maybe this time...

Are you trying to get a medium on Leviathan Jensa? I know a lot of folks are hard up for anything on levithan. Are you trying to get a private? I can only imagine how hellish that would be.

Since before these lotteries started, I have been trying to get a small house. I clicked and was unsuccessful, and since it began, every single lottery, I have entered. Once, foolishly, I tried for a medium. Along with 25 or so others. Realizing the errors of my ways, I have bid on small, out of the way, houses, or whatever small house happened to be up for lottery. I will continue to try, but the last round, losing out in a 50/50 race and then watching the lot go unclaimed...it's very hard to have any faith that I'll ever have a house.

Balmung once again now has reached 2+ bids on every single non FC only plot.

That means there are literally over 300 houses available. And every single one is now at 2 or more bids. Of every size and in every ward.

Bite the bullet and spring to add personal housing until it is reasonable for the amount of players on a server. SCRAP Island sanctuaries if you have to SE.

Just be patient, just wait one more month and there should be hundreds/thousands of new plots freed up from auto-demolition since it's been a year since it was halted. Meanwhile between now and then, there should still be plenty of churn as players relocate/relinquish their homes, freeing up more plots for bidding.

I'm in a similar situation myself, but am prioritizing getting my FC a small cottage and will be in competition for a personal next round as well. Good luck to all house hunters!

Are you trying to house your FC or just yourself?

Well if this is servers that is massive populated.... then I see only one solution spread out to other servers instead... there is plenty of half empty wards that need to be filled out... stop making excuses that the only reason playing is for housing, because if that is the case, why play FFXIV to begin with?

This is true on your statement that everyone wants the best plots. I had a few FC friends who all bid on mediums and only 1 out of 7 got one, and there was a ton of smalls that didn't have a single bid on them.

There needs to be more wards 100%, as well as having more individual only wards, and hell even some wards with the old style "first come, first served" method we used to have. I've entered just about every lottery since the system has been released for Empyreum, and lost to a last minute bid, or a sudden influx of FC bids at the last moment.

People have suggested a pity system as well, with consecutive bids on the same size plot to count as additonal entries, as well as people suggesting some kind of "waiting list" where people can put in for specific plots they want and eventually things will cycle around to the point where they will be able to get what they wanted. Both of these are better than just "sorry you're not a winner, better luck next time ".
