You didn't get screwed out of anything. This statement insinuates that the winner f'ed you over to get the plot when all they did was get chosen. It's still the first day too. I can't speak for everyone, but I'll definitely be waiting until the last possible minute to bid on the best odds I can find on a small, after getting screwed on a 50/50 shot last round despite grabbing a small out of the way subdivision plot. People who went in for the large on day 1 already know they want a large, and no amount of bad odds will deter them. They'll bid and forget until the cycle ends. But people who just want any house, are biding their time and waiting. The smalls will likely have dumb odds on balmung just because it's balmung and there's no end to the bidders. I hope I'm wrong though, because I want good odds on a personal.
Aaaaa, I like a lot of things about balmung, but the housing here is hell. So many friends moved to dynamis for a home and now like 3 of them have told me that they regret it because the DC is dead and now dc travel takes like 10 minutes. Feelsbadman
You're misunderstanding me. I didn't say that the WINNER screwed me. I said I got screwed in the sense that like, I did everything strategically right (bidding late, bidding on a small, bidding on an out of the way plot) but just lost out anyway. There's a big difference there.
I wish if the winner didn't come for their house, it would automatically go to the next person (in a 50/50 split) or just get rerolled among the losers (in a 3+ split). That it just goes back out into the lottery because the winner couldn't be bothered to log in for several days to grab their house is just ridiculous imoHonestly this is something that bugs me; I wish you could still abdicate a house to ensure it goes to a good home. I wish that if I left my home that someone could just click and buy it immediately. I realize thats not possible due to the fact it would be exploited which is why I wish they just had more housing enforcement.

It's a lottery, there is no strategy for winning. You're misunderstanding me. I didn't say that the WINNER screwed me. Since the system is more of a targeted raffle than a lottery, there are some strategies that might improve the chances of winning though not guarantee it.
That's especially true for those who are trying to get any plot, not a specific plot. With the current number of available houses on most worlds, someone can greatly improve their chances by waiting until the last minute to bid on a less desirable plot with no other bids, or at most one other bid. Someone else could still do the same, of course, but that's still better than immediately entering when the lottery starts just to find 7 other players also entered for the same one over the next 5 days.
Not to mention that IF they do not claim it....its another 9 days in limbo. You're misunderstanding me. I didn't say that the WINNER screwed me. Being able to engage housing 3x a month is probably not frequently enough
Mind if I ask - were you successful getting a home on Balmung?
