First, let's make this clear. So far the only purpose of obtaining the Pure Aqueous Glioaether is just to make the new Small Water Otter Fountain, and so far the fountain has been proven to be a poor seller. I was lucky to have sold 2, but now I can't even get a 3rd one to sell.
The Pure Aqueous Glioaether itself is also a pretty poor seller, currently there's barely any sales.
But in case one would like to farm these to make their own fountain, here's some info.
Eozean Time: 5am to 8am
Place: Elpis (25.4, 10.1, z2.5) [Hungering Gardens, lower level]
Bait: Mayfly (bought with Purple Scrips from Scrip Exchange)
Steps:
- Before 5am, prep by hooking a long ! tug (Dermogenys), and
- Then Surface Slap, Prize Catch, Chum, and use a Hi-Cordial.
- Remember to activate Collect (to acquire collectables).
- Use Carrot Nibbles to boost GATHERING and PERCEPTION as much as you can (need high gathering to reduce fish getting away, and higher perception to increase collectability).
- Cast when it's around 4:56am
- Ignore all !!
- Ignore all ! <10 sec (under Chum) (those are Isleskipper)
- Any ! that is longer than 9 sec is going to be Phyllinos (assuming Dermogenys are slapped)
- After ignoring any tug, Chum will dissipate, so you will have to be repeatedly press "Chum, Cast, (ignore), Chum, Cast, (ignore)..." until you finally catch the Phyllinos.
(Prize Catch and Slap effects will stay until you caught something)
- If you made a mistake and caught something else by accident, you will need to re-apply Prize Catch, Chum, and try to catch (without Slap). Prize Catch is immediately re-applied just in case you catch a Phyllinos directly.
- After that, if you caught a Demogenys, then Slap, and re-apply Prize Catch, Chum, and Cast again.
- Hi-Cordial should be used whenever GP is 400 lower than max value.
! tug:
With Chum:
Isle Skipper: 0-5 sec
Dermogenys: 8-18 sec
Phyllinos: 10-20 sec
Without Chum:
Isle Skipper: 3-10 sec
Dermogenys: 14-20+ sec
Phyllinos: 14-30+ sec
!! tug:
May be Iribainion or Colossoma (longer bite time)
Colossoma sells quite well on market though.
Aetherial Reduction records:
117: haven't had any failure in producing Pure Aqueous Glioaether (1/1)
114: haven't had any failure in producing Pure Aqueous Glioaether (2/2)
113: failed twice so far in producing glioaether from both 2 attempts (0/2)
112: failed once, but succeeded once in producing glioaether (1/2)
111: succeeded... lucky (1/1)
110: failed twice so far in producing glioaether from both 2 attempts (0/2)
Phyllinos of 114 collectability or above seem safe to produce glioaether. Anything below that seems to be risky.
Cast macro with timer I am using:
/micon Cast
/ac Cast <wait.3>
/echo 2 <wait.1>
/echo 3 <wait.1>
/echo 4 <wait.1>
/echo 5 <wait.1>
/echo 6 <wait.1>
/echo 7 <wait.1>
/echo 8 <wait.1>
/echo 9 <wait.1>
/echo 10 <wait.5>
/echo 15 <wait.5>
/echo 20 <wait.10>
/echo 30
- Phyllinos caught! They do get away sometimes. So boosting gathering may help. Meanwhile, we're also struggling to get enough collectability, so boosting Perception may help on that.
- Here I caught one at 117 and one at 110 collectability.
- The one at 117 dropped glioaether.
- The one at 110 did not.
Generally speaking, I can catch about 1 or 2 Phyllinos in a session. And out of the 2 Phyllinos, I can usually squeeze out 1 glioaether. If I get 2, it'd be very lucky.
