    I just think the responsibility is 50/50 here for when it comes to combat design. You cant sit there and tell me that raid design from ARR to now happened just on their own. People accepted what they wanted but overtime people start to change their minds.

    Yes the team themselves are responsible for the changes but so are we. We asked for this and it seems that people just hate being called out for realizing that maybe JUST maaaaybe we are also part of the problem.

    Tell meat head brain dead tanks that drag bosses like Yiazmat, Mephina,etc with a half room wide frontal AOE that changes when you move them. To stop dragging the boss to the edge of the area we are fighting them!!! If the boss moves there on their own that is fine. Bosses like 9s you have no choice but to move the boss to the edge or corner. Maybe then SE will be convinced to stop having bosses jump to the center automatically.

    moving bosses is fun, being a blue dyed dps class that just hits 1,2,3 while the boss automatically does half the tank job for you is boring.

    so i agree with making boss positioning more reliant on tanks moving them.

    I agree with this. I think completely removing it isn't the solution as keeping creativity of mechanics open is always a good thing. It is mainly that the frequency that bosses just teleport to the center is WAY too high. Hardcore content should not have this level of responsibility removed constantly imo.

    Probably wont be changing anytime soon. This is designed with trusts in mind, especially for the new dungeons. I suspect after they finish doing the SB dungeons, they will go back through all the trials and adjust those for trusts and this boss always jumping back to middle is a small assist for them to make this happen.

    I personally dont mind them repositioning themselves to the center and Im pretty sure it happens because many of their special attacks require for the aoe patterns mechanic to be positioned in the center for them to properly work.

    My take is to design bosses to have less of these and more on the fly stuff where positions matter. Them going to the center should really only be for just their own big attack or something

    That's like saying we should remove esuna-able debuffs, damage over time, etc. because there are certain healers that cant handle it or even have esuna on their hotbar. I'm not sure why we should cater to the "meat head brain dead tanks" in high-end content such as savage...

    Then why does it also happen in content that doesn't have trusts in mind aka normal and savage raids?

    I really dislike the oversized hitboxes because they've hampered the mobility of my Red Mage, which is one of the bigger things I used to enjoy about that class. I dash towards the boss to avoid a mechanic and I end up moving a half foot because the hitbox is so large now. And with that change leaping backward is almost always going to throw me into the edge of the arena (because the hitboxes takes up such a large portion of the arena now), which more often than not in modern fights is penalized. So a lot of the flair for the class has been killed, and I just stand still or run like everyone else now.
