Make the buff give additional gemstones instead of bonus experience when you're on max level.
Anything that makes bicolour gemstones easier to get sounds good to me.
I get the feeling the number we get is balanced around that first week with 4 or 5 parties going from fate to fate and completing them instantly.
Thats a very good idea
Good idea.
Why are you doing FATEs at max level?
You should be using those FATEs for leveling alt jobs.
+1, lets go
Perhaps they have all their alt jobs leveled (or the jobs aren't high enough for SB, ShB, or EW FATEs yet).
I've got all mine leveled yet I still do FATEs. Sometimes I'm after more gemstones. Sometimes I'm keeping friends company.
Personally I don't see a need for Forlorn Maiden or The Forlorn to trigger a gemstone bonus but then I also wouldn't complain if they did.
I mean if max out the the shared fates you get more items in a shop that has a mount that requires alot of those gems to get.
Sharlayan Diadema-800 gemstones glamour piece
Bicolor Gemstone Voucher -100 gemstones u need about 500 vouchers for a mount and per someone math "500 vouchers each, = 50,000 gemstones, = 3,572 FATE completions!"
or if you want to get all the music as well barding etc.
So yeah any boost will help with that
+1 for make it happen se

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
This is a great idea. I've often thought about making this very same post myself.
To anyone that disagrees or thinks that it's unneeded, in addition to the very simply put grind Axxion just posted above me as a reason more Bi-color gemstones are always welcome, there's currently 0 incentive for players that do not need experience points to defeat Forlorn right now, and as FATEs are meant to be content that many players can engage in together, this creates unnecessary friction between those players that don't need EXP and those that do.
Currently, if I'm grinding for Gemstones as a max level and a low-level player shows up to the FATE, and The Forlorn spawns, I could choose to spend another 2-3 min killing what's essentially a Boss FATE enemy in terms of HP values so that they can get more exp, or I could just be a jerk and ignore it and complete the fight while they struggle to do so. Why not just make the Forlorn's buff also buff the Gemstone value of the next FATE by the same %?
I don't even think that the buff should convert when you hit max level, but should just apply to Gemstones AND Experience. It's a simple way to make FATEs, which have a huge problem of being very boring, just a little bit more exciting when the unusual thing does happen, rather than a potential pain.
FATEs is a long grind if you want both Gemstone Vouchers novelty items, and I'm sure Square Enix is still getting their money's worth for someone subscribing long enough to do it. Not to mention, those same players would experience less friction doing FATEs if their goals are aligned with everyone else out doing FATEs, and you just know they're going to add more Voucher novelty items every expansion.
