    It looks like we have 8 jobs left

    They said they have content for 10 more years, which means Dawntrail and four more expansions. If we follow the rules they've been doing since Stormblood, which are 2 jobs per expansion and no jobs from the same role and armor set in two consecutive expansions, we get to something like this:

    - Fending and Aiming
    - Striking and Healing
    - Maiming and Casting
    - Scouting and Aiming

    That means that in the end will have 5 Tanks, 5 Healers, 9 Melee Dps, 5 Physical Ranged Dps and 5 Magical Ranged Dps (and probably one more limited job). Of course, they can still expand the game from this point on, and I belive they can at least make the fives be sixes, but for now this is what is almost certain to happen. So what are your bets and hopes for the next jobs? Here are mine:

    Fending: Mystic Knight with a scimitar
    Maiming: A job with two axes
    Striking: A job with a quarterstaff
    Scouting: Corsair with sword and pistol
    Aiming 1: Puppetmaster. The mammet will be the weapon.
    Aiming 2: Blitzballer
    Casting: Geomancer with two bells
    Healing: No idea. Maybe Chemist?
    Limited: Gambler with throwing darts

    this is under the assumption that we will always get 2 jobs per expansion
    would not surprise me once tanks and Healers get even out its 1 dps per expansion after that

    I used the logical conjunction "and", which means that both of the arguments have to be true for the whole sentence to be true. In other words, if one thing is true and the other thing is true, then the whole proposition is true, if not, the proposition is false. So as I said, no jobs from the same role and armor set have been in two consecutive expansions, which has proven to be true so far. We got Samurai and then Reaper, but they are of different armor sets even though they are melee.

    I'm so done with stating ehich new job(s) I'd like to see; square enix will always "play the contrarian," just for tbe sake of playing the contrarian. We have better luck not asking for the jobs and weapon types that we want to see added.

    I agree with this so much, Infact i hate how this is a "sub category" it's baffling how anyone thinks this is a reason to add more melee's into the game, I really dont think we need more melee's for a while. All it actually does serve is to functionally make maining melee less flexible with switching jobs

    But then again I don't really think we need any new jobs.. until the existing ones are largely fixed

    Unpopular opinion here, but I think they should stop adding new jobs completely. Another job with 120s burst window and 123 combo alongside 50 points gauge spender does not excite me at all.

    Instead, I want them to give unique identities to each job, create and maintain engaging gameplay even in synched content, and revamping outdated content such as Guildhest, Hall of Novice…etc
