People still watch the Praetorium cutscenes? I thought it was bathroom break or make some food time...
I feel worse about losing the first time Maggie looks me in the eye. But that was dumb to remove also.
Someone said it was because they removed your response (I guess that was before my time), but all they would have to do is put in some talking animation and you can just imagine what you said.
"A good RPG needs a healthy dose of imbalance."

I would like to thank Sarah McLachlan for making such beautiful songs. Good bye, you will forever live in our hearts

Why was this removed?
The decision seems odd, but the timing lines up with a report I made in the Localization forum about our character's lack of spoken response to Gaius's question, which got a rare official response saying "We've passed it along to the devs, so we'll see what kind of fix is possible".
I guess we know the answer to that now.
This variety of devastation was not my intention. :/
Yes, you could answer Gaius' "Tell me: for whom do you fight?" with "Myself", "My friends.", "For Eorzea.", and of course the "..." answer. iirc regardless of your answer he would respond with "Hmph! How very glib!" but there was an animation of you talking if you didn't choose the "..." answer. You can see it here at about 40 minutes(!) in if the timestamp doesn't work.

Yep, was removed when they made cutscenes unskippable.
