    Why does almost every sidequest involve collecting or killing 8 things? Change those values up a bit. 6 here, 9 there, perhaps be so bold and add a 7.

    Although some people considered a lot of them underwhelming, I really loved the quests in XI. I'd say use XI quests as a good example of where to go with that.

    To most of the people around me the quests are a big bust so far but we realize it's the easiest quests that get finished first. These feel more like presentation pieces that look good to new players on day 1 but are pretty insulting to the more veteran players of mmo's even at rank one. Finishin the quests was probably the most painful evening of play I've had so far.

    I would like to see way less fetch questing. More goal oriented questing that matters or develops and matures over time. I know they are easy to design 3000 of, but they have next to no playable value. These quest are not the cure for what ails.

    I won't sing their praises, but the quests did make me walk around each city (instead of bee-lining between crystal, leve table, and the city exit). They are a start. I was able to meet a kid in Gridania who plays pranks on adventures and a women in LL who was worried about her son. Before these quests, if I couldn't sell extra inventory or grab a leve from them, NPCs were worthless. I do hope more engaging quests (linked to classes, special armor, and interesting lore) are in the works.

    I agree. But I understand SE added quest only few days ago, so probably the next quests be better.

    It could be that I am bitter but the 16 or however many quest we got makes me sad, I realize that yes it is a start but why such a small amount?

    Two things, first I would imagine the first set of quests that were released were no doubt rushed and not much thought was put into them in terms of quest rewards and execution for completion. Second, logically it would follow that the initial quests are only preludes to unlocking more complex quests with better rewards and such. I can only hope SE does put the effort, time and creativity in making these quests more engaging to us players.

    As a side note, please for the love of everything that is essential for immersive RPG play, add cut scenes and voice acting to questlines. We are in an advance stage in gaming and with the technology that is available to us now please make use of these resources to make this game more engaging. FFXI did an excellent job of that given the resources that was available at that time, and continues to be as emersive to this day.

    They should add more npc's in total. This way they could add more sidequests without it seeming as if tough everyone has something they want you to do for them.

    The quests didn't seem to be anything more than a guildleve without the SP. I would like a little bit more story to the quest. Give them cut-scenes with cut-scene music. Add quest chains and make the story relevant to the plight of Eorzea. I don't care if it takes a month or 2 or 3 extra, just make them more interesting than just "go kill 8 of this"

    I'm just glad the side quest infrastructure is in the game and working. I still haven't finished the initial quests since I've been busy at work, but from what I've seen, it looks like they added a few choice quests to make sure the system they implemented works before adding more.

    It would be a coding nightmare if they had released hundreds of quests, only to find a bug in the sidequest system where the fix involved modifying each and every one of the quests.

    My guess (and that is all it is), is that the quests will get more elaborate as more quests are introduced into the game.

    That's what I'm hoping for!

    I think the quests they added are just a taster and a sample, just to kick start the system per se, they've announced that they will be adding to the quest system each and every update from here henceforth.. I daresay that should at least bring some change and a mix to the variation of the TYPES of quests we can actual get.

    Or am I over-assuming??
