Possibilty of a PS4 version of FFXIV!!!

Sadly there will never be a 360 version unless one side or the other backs down.
Microsoft wants to require players to have a gold membership and have their own server for xbox-only.

What? This is not true at all. Not only was FFXI on Xbox 360, but you could play it on the free Silver Membership on Xbox Live. And with SE starting to release the single player Final Fantasy games (I.e. FFXIII, FFXIII-2) also on xbox, it is even more likely now then it was when they put FFXI on the 360 over 6 years ago.

Albeit however might be on the next generation xbox, rather then this one.

FFXI was the only mmo allow to be on xbox with silver membership because it was around the time they release it and want to show everyone that a mmo could be on the Xbox.

Now Xbox is big and request everything to have gold and they also want there own world that are not with pc/ps3 users like what happen to portal 2 and also run the servers on there side. SE said no we don't want our players to pay more then they should and they don't want them to only play with xbox users.

It's already been explained from old Tanaka: ffxi made it because xbox live was still young and microsoft wanted more audience for that service. Now live it's a well-popular service, so now they demand gold membership for ffxiv. Basicly, you need to pay for live + monthly fee for the game, and the game running on their servers.
Sure, people don't buy a console just for 1 game and wil probably pay in every case for other games, but the point still remain.
Not considering xbox being pretty almost unknown for japanese players.

I find it hard to find hopefulness in statements like these. I'm sure we all enjoy the game for our own reasons, but it still strikes me as a game that would not be played widespread by a large amount of players.

Rather just buy a PC tbh. I know some people can't but really MS can gtfo with their gold membership to play MMO..who wants to pay 2 monthly fees lol

Console gaming is dead from what I saw at this years E3..the good days are over ; ; It is nice though that Yoshi-P is so open minded and is willing to try to put it on as many platforms as possible

IMO, they should've waited and made FFXIV a launch title for the PS4 instead of putting it on the PS3. That'd have made history for sure.

It is true, MS is preventing SE from releasing FFXIV on the Xbox 360 because SE doesn't want their players to be double-charged; SE also isn't the only MMO company this has happened to either.

Yep, the xbox 360 has always been an avenue for Microsoft to milk more income from online connectivity... its why I finally decided to cancel my Gold membership last month after 3 yrs.

The PS4 on the other hand (when it finally gets released) deserves a game such as 2.0 because players should eventually be given the choice of which online mmo games they want to pay for.

Lastly, Im still in the camp of people who are now VERY weary from hearing that nonsense that Microsoft wont allow SE to release FFXIV on xbox because of charging issues... its always been the politically "marketing" correct way to say "our console cannot handle FFXIV". True story.
