If you haven't cleared something once and hope for people who already have done so to join in (instead of new entrants like you), you expect a carry. Make of that what you will. That wastes everyone else's time, and risks people leaving which forces me to start the recruiting process over. Again, why place take a chance on you being able to do it when you have no proof you being able to do it? Why would I owe you that chance when I can give it to someone with that has at least cleared once? Sure they can still be bad but they cleared at least once and that's at least once more than the person with no clear.
If you don't have a clear and are capable of getting one, make your own PF if you can't find one that suits your needs.
Mortal Fist
I would take this guy with a pinch of salt. I frequently lurk here and on another forum where FM is constantly been banned and recreating accounts on it to post things like this - but in a thread where people are discussing why they don't do high end content because of anxiety etc is abit disgusting.
This is super low, even for you FM.
On topic:
I don't touch extreme or higher because of the same reasons as many, I get anxious I mess up, feel like I'm bringing the team down etc.
I used to be the same way with healing back in ARR, the pressure killed me in casual content - but I love healing, the healer aesthetics, healers in all FF games in general - so I kept trying.
I absolutly adore the PUG casual content now, to the extent ill just que for the adventure in need rewards. I enjoy the bosses, the voiceovers the OST.
I heal alot on AST and when people are noticeably struggling I will keep my eye on them for heals and try help them through it where I can. I remember the struggle of something new and how I felt doing it so I don't mind hard casting a raise if needed so that they can rejoin the fight and learn.
When people die and type 'I'm sorry", I'll be the first to say "No worries" and genuinly mean it! Just because I know the content inside and out, doesn't mean others do after all!
I love day 1 stuff aswell, with FF14 not having a PTR before it's content is released is a massive bonus for me because itputs everyone on an equal playing field and the chaos is really fun!
I think the FF14 team has done a really good job with balancing casual content so people can level their jobs, get rewards such as the 'in need bonus and so people can study a few mechanics along the way.
I also think the higher stuff is catered well for those who wish to access a higher difficulty content and get rewards from it.

I took what Amarande said not as saying that the group leader had to take in a new person but that they didn't feel like they were allowed by the community to make that choice as the group leader. So those who would allow in someone new can't because they're not being allowed to run their own party.

I always gets anxiety when i have to heal something i never healed/done before..
But it goes away once i understand the fights..
I dont get all this anxiety, just play the game. There isnt some limited amount of lives nor is it going to disappear.
Big difference between being a casual and being a bad

The only thing I don’t do is savage and limited extremes but not because I am anxious. I did that kind of content for a while and also the equivalent in other games but it is incompatible with my lifestyle and I got burned out.
My game time is limited and I have no interest in joining a prog group at fixed times for 4-6h/week. I also feel that where I had fun doing this in the past, I now just get bored doing the same fight over and over again during a prolonged period of time (applies to extremes).
I tried again when 6.0 got released and every time I joined the raid group, I wanted to be somewhere else and do something other than spending the evening progging a single fight. I’ll do a new extreme once in a while with friends if I feel like it when it is released but I skip most for the same reason.
With how long savage/ultimate encounters are, screwing up and forcing everyone to have to slog through 10+ minutes of a fight again does put significant mental pressure on some...and is honestly why I've shied away from attempting ultimates because I don't feel like I'm consistent enough in savage content.
I have a few friends with limited capabilities who dread getting a story dungeon or trial - to the point they won't even ue in a PUG and sit and wait for days until we are all online to do the content and progress in the story.I definitely get massive anxiety with group content; especially playing healer; the duty support bots don't care if I accidentally get them killed!
Otherwise I'm in a bit of a bind when it comes to group content; I can't queue for any group content during the weekends or after school hours because I have a special needs little boy who needs my attention sometimes. (even if its just "here's the remote; I want a show on my tv or to refill his drink) so I'm limited to group content during work/school hours and queueing as a DPS during off hours = horrible horrible queue times. I waited more than an hour to do the Sephirot fight last week. I've thought about traveling over to a Europe DC (don't even know if I can) for that but that may just increase my anxiety.
I believe this is why SE are adding more accessibility via Trusts.
Anxiety or feeling you are under performing is the same thing imo, and in a game that is beloved by many FF fans and being unable to progress in casual content due to either a disability or been anxious is hard for them to experience FF14s story.
I think people forget that alot of stuff is gated behind the MSQ - island sanctuary is one of them.
