I believe the shell remains but do not quote me on this because if a character deletes and remakes they are automatically removed from LS roster.I agree there needs to be some kind of way to remove members remotely and for offline members too. Short of reforming, there really isn't a way to clean up the rosters for all those players that re-rolled or quit/cancelled their account without actually leaving the shell.
On a side note, does anyone know what happens if the leader of the LS quits and closes their account? Does the shell auto-disband or are they just stuck?

I can say for certainty that when a member deletes/remakes a character, it does not get removed from the list. My LS consists of basically real life friends and family and one of us has remade his character by deleting and remaking for a name change and the original character he deleted is still showing in the LS listing. As for when a leader quits a Linkshell without retiring it, the Linkshell doesn't even disband but will have lost the function for being properly retired so the name and leadership controls will be lost. A new Linkshell with the same name cannot be remade at this point, nor can the officers or the emblem be changed. I agree that there need to be at least the basic functions that existed for 11 Linkshells in this game.
Umm... I have 128 members in my linkshell which is the max I can have. And my active people are around 15.. How can I be able to kick the inactive members without having them online? or near me? It's really giving us a hard timeSo yes please improve the linkshell system
in that same ls and agree why can't a master ... at least throw in active members off... not being nasty just if they are not going to play there are many ppl that would like too
