I see no reason that Confetior needs its own button, Just move it into Req. Same with Attunement, Move it into Royal Authority.

Honestly I kind of think requiescat and fight or flight are redundant the way PLD is changed.
Confiteor on a 1 minute cooldown with huge potency on all 4 parts...???....profit!
not liking goring blade being a one-off skill with no interaction at all either. Kind of feel like killing atonement, making royal authority just give a stack of divine mights, and goring blade being a royal authority alternative finisher for the mp refresh might be more interesting.
Kind of a game of how much can you get away with not doing the goring blade combo but knowing you need to at some point the whole time
Would make balancing paladin really simple too, 1/2 minute burst windows would just be adjusting parts of confiteor and balancing overall dps would mostly be adjusting divine might potency
The defensive side of PLD feels great now at least.

Keeping FoF *and* Req is a very bizarre decision and is a large part of why PLD feels like they couldn't decide if they wanted to copy GNB or WAR and so tried to copy both. Req is a neutered Inner Release, while FoF is almost literally No Mercy, and the filler rotation is some kind of shitty thing that's neither.
I definitely would have preferred they just scrapped FoF. It's easier to fit into the existing framework (no way they're going to scrap Req, not when the Confiteor combo is damn near the only cool looking thing PLD gets to do) and they could just copy WAR's homework and call it good - Goring Blade produces and maintains a simple buff, replace Oath Gauge with "Divine Might Gauge," etc.
Would they get yelled at for literally copying one class onto another? Yeah, of course they would - this rework from the outset was a lose-lose for Square-Enix - but I think the yelling would be more people being grumpy than people being *angry.* Mock "it's all WAR" as much as you'd like, at least then we'd be getting a proper rotation.
But, hell. The only thing about this that genuinely pisses me off is that these changes really fuck over PLD below 90. Have these morons even played their game? Do they understand just how much gameplay time is spent at levels other than 90?
confiteor doesn't actually need requiescat to work, it's an easy thing to change. It would actually be better that way because the whole confiteor combo is ranged while requiescat is not. Would also remove the potential to completely boff it with an accidental clemency or holy spirit(which I know wouldn't happen but just the fact that it can is offputting)Keeping FoF *and* Req is a very bizarre decision and is a large part of why PLD feels like they couldn't decide if they wanted to copy GNB or WAR and so tried to copy both. The paladin's main combo is like building up to a really bad inner release over and over as well. It's actually quite odd and has been that way for a while. They have inner release the combo and inner release 'gunbreaker' style
It does seem like a rather odd decision, and more the dev team being afraid to remove any abilities rather that make the kit cohesive.
Removing Requiescat entirely and baking its potency into the Blade Combo would serve the exact same purpose without the whole "Confiteor Ready" aspect. If they preferred keeping Requiescat, then bake Flight or Fight into it.
Goring Blade definitely feels like a placeholder at this point. Either they'll make it an oGCD that replaces Circle of Scorn (which I'd be shocked to see survive 7.0) or it'll have some new interaction with whatever they do come 7.0.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
My ideal change would be merge Req's current properties into FoF merge Req and Goring blade into a oGCD damage button > rework Req's animation so we get the galaxy sword slash from Requiescat [FFXI]. Also give Atonement XI's animation at the very least.
PLD needs some razzle dazzle outside of the confiteor combo cuz Holy Spirit is a bit.....underwhelming given how often we press it imo. But some people might have come to love it in its current iteration and so that's why im suggesting having other buttons that seem superfluous to at least look pretty when pressed, and Goring Blade while sophisticated Atonement is just, idk I just don't like the thrust animation for it, feels weightless with how optional Atonement is in the rotation.

@OP: Pretty much the same way as Inner Release and Delirium. Use on cd and spam the same button 3-4 times. Ironic how I didn't like the change to IR after 4.1 and it has now spread to other tanks, but at least other jobs can share the pain. Consider yourself lucky you don't have 100% crit direct hit... yet.
