High Speed White Scrip Farming for Gripgel in Patch 6.3

With the ridiculous amount of White Scrips we need in Patch 6.3 for Gripgel, it is critical to maximize our speed in earning White Scrips.

Here, I conducted an analysis to determine the fastest macro rotation for this purpose.

In the figure above, on the left side shows a normal White Scrip farming rotation with 12 steps. It is already reasonably fast, and it results in max quality of the item.

In the middle is a faster rotation with only 11 steps. However, it needs 1 HQ mat (which is easily obtained if you QuickSyn most of your crafted mats, like ingots).

On the right is an even faster rotation with only 11 steps but substituted a touch with a GS, which saves 1 second of macro time. However, this needs 2 HQ mats. And I was still 36 quality short of max White Scrip earnings. This can easily be fixed with a tad bit more control though, as shown by the figure below.

All in all, I think the middle rotation is the best for me currently, so I have quite a bit of HQ mats. This 11 step rotation is quite fast, and consumes HQ mats slightly slower than the rotation on the right.

Although, when I'm out of HQ mats, the left rotation isn't bad either... 12 steps is still quite fine.

But if anyone knows any even faster rotation, please kindly comment below and let me know. I've love to shorten this Gripgel farming as much as possible.

    Thanks!

    EDIT:

Syd N Kai showed me a even better way!
This one is only 10 steps, and require no HQ mat at all:

    Thanks, Syd!

Jaelynn Traelia (Leviathan) just informed me of ANOTHER way!
He recommended just doing level 80 collectables since they only need Trained Finesse to finish the quality part!

If you look at the pic above, lv 80 still gives a maximum of 114 white scrips per item. But the time taken is much, much less.

For lv 90 collectables, the max white scrips that can be earned is 198.

So 114/198 = 0.576... using lv 80 collectables to earn scrips is about 58% of the scrip amount of that of lv 90 collectables.

But the macro now becomes just 3 lines:

    /ac "Trained Eye" <wait.3>
    /ac "Veneration" <wait.2>
    /ac "Groundwork"

... That's an approximately 8-sec macro (adding in 3 sec for the last Groundwork).
The 10-line macro above for lvl 90 stuff would still need 28-sec (adding 3 sec for the last Groundwork).

That's ONLY 29% of the time amount of that of lv 90 collectables!

Therefore, although you will have to make A LOT more collectables if you use this approach (almost 42% more items to make), time-efficiency-wise, this approach is even better!

    The only drawbacks are:
    (1) You get no spiritbonding if you're wearing level 90 gear. This means you will earn ZERO materia comparing to having a lot of them for free in the process.
    (2) One may not have stocked up enough mats from the ShB expansion... so you may actually need to buy the mats. Also, because you now need to make ~42% more items, it may become very mat-heavy as well.

On the good side, although this approach will become more mat-heavy, the mat acquisition via retainer is much more time-efficient too!
Chondrite (lv 90): 30 pieces every 1 hour
Dimythrite Ore (lv 80): 50 pieces every 50 min
That's about >40% more mats to be acquired by retainer every hour!

Myself I'm using Rarified Giant Potato Pancakes. There's one more mat, but less precrafting and no skins/gemstones/marketboard to deal with. I very, very rarely buy any mats from the MB, even mats to make/aquire mats. It's mostly because I have a sick gathering addiction I think. I'm also cheap af when it comes to Gil lol. There's is a small matter of pride. I don't sell my stuff often and I like all my gear to be homegrown gathered and crafted by me! Silly I know.

And great hint on the level 80 collectibles, thanks for passing that on. Spiritbonding tho...we're gonna need to do over melds again xD ..Did I mention I don't like spending Gil?

this needs bumps and praise and celibration.

I know trained eye is power, but I'd never have thought of using it to farm like that

Am I the only one who uses Rarefied Draught? This uses no refined mats, just stuff my retainers bring me (Ambrosial Water from Miners, Berkanan Sap from combat retainers, and Light Gerbera from Botanists).

I don’t get the spiritbonding from quick synthing the refined mats, but I don’t spend the time making the refined mats either.

Yes, I heard a lot of people are using Rarefied Draught for this reason. It is kind of nice!
One thing though, the Water Crystal prices are going rocket high lately because so many are doing the Draughts for this reason.
If you had previously stocked up Water Crystals, then it's not a problem.

On the other hand, Earth and Lightning Crystals are super cheap, because of aetherial reduction farming of aethersands.
So I actually used my LTW a bit for this reason, especially when the Ophio hides were really cheap on my world (at some point they were around 100 gil each).

Yea, I need to send my retainers out for Water and Lightning crystals every now and then working on these things. Fortunately one retainer can bring back a lot over time.

Just found another way to get Water Crystal... We can just buy off stacks of worthless cheap fish (each fish has to be cheaper than the price of a Water Crystal) from the MB, desynthesize them, and get a ton of Water Crystals

Well, here we are at Patch 6.35. With the need of a crap ton of white scrips for buying the new Splendorous Tools and their white scrip raw mats, this thread is becoming useful again! LOL
