Let's be honest here there's no feeling of weight or acceleration when using a chocobo in any of the FF titles.
I think it's about time this aspect of the FF games gets some better gameplay programming.
Riding a horsebird shouldn't feel like I'm a hovering cursor over the landscape.
Some examples of games where riding things feels different than walking:
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (GREAT acceleration system!)
Shadow of the Colossus
Basically whatever feels better than just a 3d object moving without weight.
